Why are people voting cold? Voted hot and rep given, same deal as at Xmas and a corker IMO. The Fosters/Boddies/John Smiths works out at 52p/pint. Stella works out at 73p/pint.

41p per can ain't bad
#3
I don't drink cans ..but for those that do it's a cheap way to a Easter hangover.
#4
Is there a limit in what you can buy?? Better deal than the christmas one.
#5
Is this from today??? if so Guess where im going on the way home :D

I work for John Smiths Brewery, and we are having to make extra stock of the 18 pack Fosters and John Smiths over the next week as demand has gone through roof. I now know why :):)

I get beer cheaper than the supermarkets though :):):)
#7
not the greatest beers but good to have an emergency supply of the weekend!

With BBQ season fast approaching this is a good deal....

I usually aim to get a 24 pack @ £10 as a good deal. This works out equiv of 24 cans for £9.77 for 24 cans which is ace!!!

Best deal I ever had was 24 for £8 which was an amazing deal - its not even that cheap duty free.... That was a once in a lifetime deal though, this is a good deal!!

BTW, will Tesco price match this!?!? Might be worth it for a few clubcard points too....

The other supermarkets are just have the 2 for £16 as detailed in this thread -
http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58932
which is only very marginally more expensive but still ASDA is cheaper even after clubcard points are taken into consideration. Depends how much you want, the other thread says ASDA do the 2 for £16 if you don't want the 3 for £22.

Presumably they know how much of a mark up there is in the first place...even at these prices Asda are still making a huge profit.

What annoys me is that the supermarkets deliberately put their prices up and then cut them a few weeks later. They then squawk on about what a huge saving you're making...

(To hide the price rises from customers they only do a couple each night, usually after 9pm so that no one notices..at least they do in Asda)

I was told some of these better beer promotions were actually loss leaders just to bring people into the store. However i'd say they make something - but not much

You could arguably say this about 99% of the bargains posted on here, though. :? Fact is, these retailers are not charitable organisations, we all *know* they are in business to make a profit, but our job is to root out the retailers that are offering a deal that is better than the others, surely?

PS ASda will NOT be making a huge profit on this beer, believe me.

I think over before Christmas I worked out the tax on a 440ml can of 4% beer is roughly 22p a can (haven;t got time to look it up again).

So beers at 41p a can must be a break even for the supermarkets to get people through the doors.

Normally 50p a can plus(at a good price) so thats where their markup is.

Sorry they are 2 for £16 in the north, not 3 for £22, STILL a good deal tho
#17
Who cares how cheap it is, it is still Fosters!!!

Definately 3 for £22 in the North East and should be nationwide. The advert was in the Sun newspaper and did noy say it was area specific. It did say online prices may vary from instore.

I'll stick to the 24 4X for £4.99 that I get in booker :). Me and a mate normally pick up 96 when we go, what a bargain.

I remember this deal at Christmas though, just wait for the £5-10 off a £35 shop and then it starts getting cheap. I can't remember what the delivery limit is though.

Well I go to the Booker in Canterbury, they normally have the 24 4X 375ml cans (which is still a fair sized can, more like American size) standard price is £4.99 (55p a litre). Last time I went they were out of stock but I very much doubt it is a discontinued line I just think that they are very popular as it's the cheapest beer they do. But if you have an account just look out for them, I have a friend who is a manager at Booker I'll ask him if they are available in his branch. But remember you need to have a friend or relative who works their to get a card if you are not a small retailer.

But when have beer snobs ever been able to read past Fosters in any post? These people really do bore me, this is a bargain forum, it's not for passing judgement on the quality of stuff, just whether it's cheaper than anywhere else, then it's up to the reader to decide if they are to buy or not.

Thanks for posting this deal, I swung by Asda on the way home from work today to check it out and although it was not marked on the shelves, sure enough, 3x 20x300ml crates of bottled Grolsch was £22 - bargain!
