Yeah, got to be - it's from the days when diesel was only a few pence more expensive than petrol....
#12
oils gonna get expensive in 2009 ... and quick. the chinese will run their production at near maximum capacity and geo-political issues will also help boost the price of oil up. Demand is low at the moment due to recession hence the price of petrol right now. They are not doing us a great favour by reducing a few pence ... barrel of oil is very low at the moment ... unlike on 2nd july when it was idling $150

I would stock up but how ...
#13
Demand from India and China is dropping due to global economic slowdown, hence why the price has dropped back to more 'normal' levels.

Unless the world economic situation improves I would not expect to see prices rise quickly back to the levels we saw last summer.

Asda?

Round here its Esso, ASDA, Tesco, Shell - i.e. every petrol station! :)
#15
get yourself a load of 50 gallon barrols on a trailer. stock up the garage.
#16
Petrol at asda has gone down in price, however every time this happens they increase the prices of goods in the supermarket :-(
#17
When did this come in to effect?

I topped up less than 2hrs ago at Asda and it was 84.9 for unleaded.
#18
cheers to op - i will look out for it tomorrow
#19
What about LPG thats more important to me i want it less than 44.9p its not fair lol
#20
I paid 97.9 2 hours ago in the Midlands at Asda :x
#21
Nah - Petrol will stay around this mark never really raising much over 110p since if its too expensive more money will be put into hydrogen and saudi arabia, greedy texans and the likes wouldn't like that at all

Nonsense, prices dropped today.

And remember, you're not allowed to store petrol in your hope ;-)
#23
Cant remember paying that sort of money for petrol! Alas it wont last since price of oil rocketed yesterday! :-(
#24
I dont think anyone can really predict what will happen next with petrol prices. No one could have predicted this years crisis, which had a large influence on the price of oil. A lot of people think it will stay below £1 for the whole of '09 whilst others think it will rocket.

One thing is for sure....it can't get much lower cause the tax is still 65p a litre. If it goes too much lower No one will make a profit off of it at all. I can't imagine it going below 79.9p a litre for petrol

if by rocketed you mean 10%

Seeing as honda has alreayd made a commercial hydrogen car - i can see the future of petrol prices quite clearly. When something doesn't become commercially viable we change sources i.e. renewable energy / nuclear power

38p/litre at star city or as low as 33p/litre in wolverhampton!

Shame nowhere neither place is open after 6pm.
#28
It's mostly 86.9 for petrol in my area, did find one at 85.9 and filled my tank yesterday. Certainly can't see it coming down to that round my way for a while, but hopefully it catches! HOT

Oil production globally and deliberately being cut to raise the falling price of oil and then Arab share holders saying its for consumer good...work it out... :x

Methos.

Shame that the price of meat in these supermarkets, which supposedly rose due to the price of transport fuel, hasn't dropped a penny.

Yeah exactly. How come when the price of crude oil / petrol is going up they always like to tell us that the price of food has to go up as it costs more to deliver it etc......yet when the price of petrol comes back down again does the price of food follow suit? Me thinks not.

Plus a few years ago the decimal figure at the end of the forecourt price would often end in any number between .0 to .9 For example you used to get prices like 64.3p or 74.6p a litre but these days the prices ALWAYS seem to end in .9p ie in the case of this deal 82.9p for petrol and 94.9p for diesel. Just another way to rip us off I guess.
