Hi,

Was in my local Asda Living store today and spotted a FujiFilm camera in the reduced to clear section with no price on the item.

Went to a member of staff who scanned the item and advised the camera is not on their system so called over a duty manager.

Spoke with the duty/floor manager who said as the item is not on system, does £30 sound ok ?? In an instance I said "yeah" sounds ok..

Purchased the item, then to find when i unboxed it at home the camera was not even in the box... to cut a long story short.. called the store as soon as i relaised and they put another aside and I went back in to exchange mine...

Exchange happened as expected and another camera supplied. (however the second camera box has a reduced to clear sticker on the box of £111.00 !!

£30 for a one off maybe.... but its worth anyone who is in store to keep an eye open for the stock as its not on system, you could also get a good deal...

ps.. there was 1 more at Crown Point, Leeds, I was going to get it, but thought i had already got the deal for me and was not bothered for 2 of them !!

-- Some will say this is a "show off" thread.... i guess your right.... it is... no need to spam.... just expire... :-)

But the top tip is.... always ask for the price if not labelled up in the first instance!!

Rick

Funny thing is... it was only after "Red Lasering" it (iphone price app) and checking the box that it had a lithium battery, I went to get the price checked.

If it would not of had a lithium battery, i would of left it..

At £30 its a bargain.

Not a bad little camera at all.

Probably sold at about £70 to £80

Well if it's a show off thread I got a Fuji J50 and a Fuji F60FD in pristine condition for a total of £22.80 last October in the Jessops clearance..that would be the thread that most people voted ice cold...except the few of us who took more notice....they made very nice Christmas presents..and my tip is investigate the original deal carefully...nice deal OP :)

I got a NEX 5 with 18-55 lens for less than £300 ;)

i bought mine for 120 quid 2 years ago. its not a bad camera, but if you spent 111 quid on it i would have said you got ripped off.
ive got a few nice photos with it, but it has the WORST stabilisation ever. it actually makes pictures more blurry (as tested on DPreview)
and its not very good in low light. actually its pretty poor, but the flash isnt too bad.

So its got no price on and i have to haggle for it - last time i found an item with like this they said they could not sell it as it was not on their system - and took it off me.

As the first item had a reduced to clear sticker on it, but no price, the manager just stated a price which she thought was a fair figure...

From store managers/ duty managers point of view.. i guess hey just class it as old stock which they just want to sell ??

Haggling in Asda...... :p

Oh cmon, congrats OP you got a good deal. But this is obviously not generally available, this belongs in the forums not as a submitted deal.

I have this camera and i have never regret buying it. The quality is really good for a point shoot camera..sometimes even comparable with my DSLR!! The only drawback is no wide-angle. Besides that, it I think it outperforms any other Canon or NIkon for this price range. Amazing colors especially when using Vibrant mode, and it also have manual mode which is great !
#16
bragging. Not a deal.

Well Done.

This is definitely not a "deal". This is just a display of the OP's negotiating ability and good luck.

a Fuji outperforms a canon at this price lol....as for being near dslr quality, you should take your dslr back to the shop

I know... but if anything, it highlights that if your ever unsure on a pricve in ASDA, go and ask..

By the way.. is in the thread... there was 1 left in the store as of yesterday..

Feel free to expire. :D

Bought one of these 2 years ago for £110. Not a bad camera but not great indoors. Has lots of features to tweak and play with to get better results but not ideal if you just want a point and shoot. Voted Hot all the same as 12mp is still failry high quality these days.
