Asda Ragu sauces on offer 2 for just £1, normally £1.33 or more each. These are the large jars (500g) and personally I think one of the best jar sauces around very natural tasting with normal sounding ingredients: Tomatoes, Made with 153g Tomatoes per 100g, Lemon Juice, Sugar, Onions, Cornflour, Garlic Pur? Salt, Basil, Oregano, Black Pepper.

Great deal...just bought 2 for £1.33 on BOGOF at morrisons and thought that was good!

lol - I brought 18 of these last time they did it & my GF had a fit! We had no room for them and they were everwhere - lol

we've gone off them now - too much tomato & not enough anything else in em - hot vote for me though - good price for those that havnt' overdosed on it already!

Beat me to it! They are fairly discreetly located in my local ASDA. They are majoring on the '2 jars of Dolmio for £2.50). HOT!

ragu and dolmio are both my favs.

it cant just be me that wonders how they get 153g of tomatoes into a 100g of the final product.. lol
#7
The red wine one is sexual, actually no, all of them are.

Good deal.

Great deal, but can't stomach this stuff or Dolmio. Far too sweet and sickly. Try a jar of Sacla, Lloyd Grossman or Bertolli and see what you get for an extra 30 or 40p over the usual price.

Rep added for helping out the tasteless

Cheers

I agree with you on the Llyod Grossman - although it galls me the swarmy so&so should profit from me buying them, but they are far better than any others I have had, although not had the others you mention.

The Jamie Oliver ones were a recent disappointment though, as were the very poor Napolina ones (odd because they are THE best canned tomatoes around to use for sauces!)

All rather salty compared to home made too, although I am frequently guilty of using them when I should make something myself, such as today!!

Fab find - thx for sharing

Good spot.. Asda seem to do this once per year... morrisons too - luckily not at the same time... just a shame they dropped the Basil and Oregano variety...

cooked tomatoes would reduce in weight, once cooked

Good price, but I'm sure they have changed the recipe recently and I now find them pretty bland and tasteless. Prefer Gross Lloydmans if i'm too lazy to make my own

No signs about this deal at Asda Chandlers Ford but I picked up a few anyway and they did go through at 2 for £1
