Spotted this in the ASDA sale on their website. Great price for a full HD 42" TV!

Can get this for £346.84 after Quidco discount as well!

Edit: As someone mentioned, I don't know if this is available at this price in-store. Standard delivery price is £4.95, or you can select a convenient delivery date at the checkout for this product. Delivery charge £5.95 (unless Islands/N Ireland £9.90 which are delivered in 2-5 working days).

Good deal - voted hot :)

Amazing... these things used to be £2000 four years ago.

£395 is the standard price for this at Dixons. £50 saving is good but reviews that it won't play movies from USB.
#7
Looks good. One point to note though - the description on the ASDA website implies you can play video (and pictures) via the USB connection - however, the official thread for this model on AVForums suggests you can't play video via USB - it's just for MP3's and pictures - the spec on the LG website also suggests the USB connection is only for MP3 & JPEG
#8
looks a good deal but dont forget P+P @ $4.95 and it wont give me the option to collect from store or the £5.95 option to choose a delivery slot,
Do i buy this or not?? i got my finger on the pay button??
#9
Thanks .... Just ordered
Couldn't choose between this and the 490 which has the HD freeview, wifi and USB divx capability.
Think I'm happier with this and a £100 in my pocket.

You can play movies via USB on this TV. Don't ask me how but as my brother sorted mine using a service remote from his work. Google should help.

i am not sure if that will work for this model however i found this link

The built in media player has serious limitations as to what it will play back smoothly - for a start if your MKV has DTS audio you will need to convert it to AC3. So my advise would be to get a cheap media player that will play everything you throw at it and will get frequent firmware updates - the LG won't get any updates.

Sorry, yes. Looks like you can only get home delivery on this. Not sure if it'll be in-store at the same price. I doubt it...

I do not like TVs by LG but voting on the deal, it's hot, +8

Thanks just ordered one of these, been looking for a reasonable priced TV for a while. Just hope nothing comes cheaper after xmas sales now.

It will be standard 1 year. Im waiting for JL to do a good deal with 5 years. Dont really want a TV without 5 years even though my original LFG 32" LCD worked for 4 years without a problem until it got nicked!

Dont unbox it, wait for the Xmas sales and if a better deal appears return this one under 'Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000' which allows 7 days from the day of delivery to change your mind.

...Sneaky

You sure? I have a 22" LG and it came with a 3 year manufacturer's gaurentee. Have they changed since?

I dont need a TV this big but an awesome deal nonetheless. My LG is almost faultless.

Been selling em for years now, Personally the things I use that are 1080p are things like BlueRay Player/ Playstation 3/ Xbox360 (1080i)/ Media Streamer (1080p .MKV's)/ Camcorder

Ordered today. Quidco tracked £0.00. There is info on the quidco page which says Asda do not pay cashback on electricals. Still a top deal though

I have a similar 42" LG plasma from last xmas, and it's pretty simple: you just plug the hdd's usb into the tv and it will ask what you wanna play; movies, music or pics. You'll be able to control it with the tv's remote:

(Have a look on the bottom part of it!)

Thanks, I decided to purchase one of these based on the the good reviews on Amazon etc. I also used Quidco and it tracked at £0.00
Looking at TopCashBack, I think it will be the same story there "Any ASDA Direct purchases are currently not eligible for cashback."
Anyway, still looks like a good deal for a good TV.
#34
good deal but quidco's just tracked at £0
#35
Ordered yesterday arrived this morning, excellent
#36
mine arrived this morning also, will keep it boxed to see whats on offer Boxing day then decide ;o)
#37
Got this from Dixons last month 374, 365 after quidco with free delivery. The cash back would make asda a better deal, delivery hurts the margin a little. But if there is no quidco then the Asda deal, though best at the minute is a shade more than I paid.

Great TV.

Not 'til the 4th i believe and it's 2.5% which is only a tenner on a £400 tv,so there will be bargains around but not many i think because they have dropped a lot already.
