This will not suit everyone. only really for light users/ glove box in car.

has been posted before a few months ago but due a repost

Includes £10 of credit, cheapest PAYG tariff, (8p min 4p text).

possible cashback - Quidco £2, TCB £2.02.

so could cost as little as £2 for this sim with 125 mins of x-network and landline minutes. OR 250 texts.

Does not include handset.

Credit has a time limit of 3 months if no call made, when number is blocked, and a further 3 month in which one has to call to unblock the number and keep credit. If no call made in 6 months, number AND credit lost.

Pretty sure Asda (isn't it T-Mobile?) Mobile rates are the cheapest going for PAYG ?

Got a couple of old mobiles gathering dust, think I'll get a couple of these to pop in the glovebox for emergency use.

Hot from me.

"No time limit on credit"
Are you sure, their Ts&Cs suggest 180 days, which is typical of most providers.

3.2 Where the Services are suspended or disconnected because you have chosen not to use the Services for a continuous period of 180 days, we will, on request reconnect you to the Services, however any credit or top-ups held on your account at the time of suspension or disconnection will not be recredited to your new service. We cannot guarantee under any circumstances that you shall be able to continue to use your original number.

Need to make a less-than-1-minute call every couple of months then ?

Wasn't aware of that, cheers.

Asda use Vodaphone and the best PAYG deals are still with GiffGaff who use O2.

Compare international rates and you will giffgaff all the way plus unlimited internet if that is your thing.
Asda may be good for local calls but that's all.
I'm sorry but this is chilly...

Ive just got one of these sim cards. I mainly text rather than call. Good thing about ASDA is that you can top up £5 rather than the minimum £10 on most networks. ASDA's roaming charges in EU are no more expensive than any other Network. GiffGaff looks good, but far too confusing with all the goodybags and normal P&G charges.

Going to see how i get on with ASDA network. Read lots of good things about them.

This is a good sim card for less techie people who dont use the internet to apply goodie bags etc, I recommend this to aunts/uncles and older people as its simple and straightforward (they can use a swipe card to top up). Also some people only use phones for emergency, this fits the bill. Put with very low rates its a good all rounder.

GiffGaff is equal to or superior on all tariffs.
Having been with Asda since they started doing PAYG I looked into all the angles and as a result I have now ported over to GiffGaff.
I don't use my mobile for internet use much and it's still the smart thing to do if you value your money.

1)
Giffgaff does not charge per second
ASDA does charge per second, therefore 8p/min with ASDA is better than 8p/min with GG

2)
calls to european destination OUTSIDE EU are 20p/min with ASDA and £1/min !!! with GG (according to GG website)

Overall, due to free calls and free internet, GG is better than ASDA, but people should be aware of 1) and 2)

My guess is that most people who need more than a PAYG have one. I have this as I don't make £10 or anywhere near that of calls a month. In fact, at 8p a minute, I'd have to make 125 minutes of calls a month to get to £10. I rarely text.

O2 has crap signal in some places, including near me. This deal, on Vodafone, is the best deal in my circumstances, but would not be if I were a blabbermouth or on the mobile net all the time.
