Want to join ASDA mobile but already have a mobile you are happy with? Just buy this SIM pack and pop it in your existing phone. You can even keep your current number.

We suggest that you register your phone as this will make sure that you can keep your telephone number if your mobile is ever lost or stolen.

To do this, just call the ASDA Mobile Helpline from your phone on 2732. The call will cost a total of 25p

If your handset is 'locked' to another network, they will be able to unlock it for you (your network may charge for this).
Tariff details

* Calls...... 8p/min flat rate
* Texts...... 4p/text to any UK mobile network

The £10 credit only applies to orders online apparently.

Update:14/08/10
£3 cashback is now available on this deal at Topcashback.
£2 @ Quidco,gpb and cbk.

When did this start as they are usually 50p but free with £5 airtime???

Great offer, we are all changing over to this as its much cheaper and piggybacks off Vodaphone so can go straight into any Voda- phones, heat added.

Use GiffGaff (O2's backed MVNO) same rates as Asda but free data till October and free 0800 numbers (allows you to call landlines thro' say 18185 at a penny a minute and make cheap overseas calls).
Plus get introduced and you get £15 credit for the initial £10

Don't think that you can just put one in a Vodafone Phone.....wanted to do that for my son but the guy in the Vodafone shop said that it doesn't work that way and so do a lot of sites.

Unless you can prove me wrong of course.

I have one on my Vodafone 540 - works fine with Asda.
It is locked to Vodafone as it won't accept a Virgin SIM

Hmmnn.......I wonder why a salesman in a Vodafone shop would advise against using another network's sim in one of their phones?

Like several other people have already said... I have used Asda SIMs in around Four Vodafone locked phones previously.

 Do you think a large company would ever give false or misleading information? - Well I'm gabberflasted.

I am happy to stand corrected as I have a 5800 on Voda which he can use with an Asda sim card...just thought the salesmen wouldn't really give a hoot if I was buying a PAYG sim and changing it for another network as long as they got the sale.

Cool good to know....thanks guys

My Vodafone phone locked to Vodafone will not allow Virgin or other SIMs but takes an Asda sim no probs!
#13
Would these sims work with Vodafone SureSignal?

Which is a better deal, effectively making this deal cold in comparison.

piggy backing as a rule
a Tesco sim will work in a 02 locked phone
a Virgin sim will work in a T-Mobile locked phone
etc
you could try other sim cards and a phone thats locked to the network these sim providers use

giffgaff use 02 network
vectone use tmobile
lyca mobile use 02
lebra use vodaphone
nomi use vodapgone
family mobile use tmobile
utility warehouse use tmobile
idt mobile use orange
global cell use orange
3 use 3 and orange network

Yeah I know it was just my dodgy maths letting me down. I edited the post as soon as I realised but you obviously got there first!

I suppose if you had two mobiles and used one for incoming calls and the other for outgoing calls and bought a new sim everytime you ran out of credit you could effectively half your mobile charges. 4p per minute for calls and 2p per text sounds pretty good!
#21
Anyone tried moving their old Asda number to this new sim offer?
#22
Sounds like money saving taken a bit too far.
#23
No itemised billing or online topup/management. Apart from that I'm perfectly happy with asda mobile as a light user.

Now if only there was a way to combine one of the cheap call operators with the cheap internet deals (6 months internet for £20 from t-mobile or £5 a month from 3).
#24
This deal just got Hotter. £2.50 Quidco available now. Shame it wasn't available when I ordered mine on Monday
#25
Hi just got a sim and placed in phone - only shows up £5 credit - and show "voadfone" not asda ! Im hoping that they will add the £10 on soon - anyone else had this?

P :)
#26
Just got an email form them - offer is web only - not if u get sim from store !! Very unclear on website and I just didnt want to wait - so I drove to a store to buy the sim !!
#27
Bargain £10 credit for £2.50 if quidco tracks ,works out at 2p a min?
#28
Topcashback are now offering £3 cashback on this deal,so this was a no brainer for me.I'm going on holiday to tunisia and to call home from places like this is unbelievable. On my network, virgin it costs £1.70 A min.By buying this sim for £5,i get £10 call credit and £3 cashback, meaning the £10 costs me £2. Asda mobile rate from tunisia is £1.40 A min, therefore i will get almost 8 mins of calls for my £2,which would have cost me £13 on my virgin sim. Even without cashback it would be a bargain.
The only downside is that i need to take an unlocked phone with me,as it won't work in my virgin phone, but i can live with that.
#29
^ £1.40 a minute?! No wonder these phone operators are making so much money.

Discounted SIM cards are always welcome. Thanks for the reminder, went through QuidCo as I am not a member of Topcashback
