SUPERMARKET giant ASDA is slashing petrol to 110.7p per litre - after another 2p cut.
The cuts take fuel down to within reach of £5 a gallon.
And they are certain to spark yet another round of copycat cuts that will save a small fortune for motorists. Diesel drops by a penny to 117.7p.
Asda's cuts will take effect tomorrow morning. The chain - the cheapest nationwide operator in Britain - was charging as much as 126.7ppl in September.
The cuts come just hours after the Sun called for petrol giants to go the extra mile given the incredible falls in the global price of oil. Brent crude fell below $60 a barrel for the first time since 2009 yesterday.
Andy Peake, Asda's petrol trading director, said: "We're giving drivers an early Christmas present."http://your.asda.com/news-and-blogs/we-re-cutting-the-price-of-fuel-again-our-11th-price-cut-since-september-2014
