I'm sick of people like you ruining this website.

What do you expect for 14p, a luxurious meal in a world famous restaurant? Get a grip!

If I fed my family for 15p I'd have no family left as they'd walk out on me!

If I dished up pasta with curry sauce they'd also have reason to lock me up!

Do you seriously think that I was making anything more than a comment about the taste combination of pasta and curry sauce seeming odd to me, which I was?

and, excuse me asking this as the OP obviously doubts my intent, but what would you (and them) feel about the balance of such a meal?

5p for chemicals which are going to kill you, thumbs down here

The Pasta for 9p would have been a better choice of 'bargain' to post. I seriously can't think of anyone that would chose to buy a curry cooking sauce for 5p, let alone come up with the idea of combining Pasta with Curry sauce. I can't see how CyBerman'ss comment can be construed as "ruining this website" - people like David18 that react in such a bewildering angry tone are the ones that do that!

if i only had 15p for food i don't think a pasta and curry sauce combination would be the biggest of my problems + HEAT!

Now, if it was a tomato pasta sauce with the cheap pasta, and had some added fresh chopped mushrooms, onions and peppers then it might have been a reasonable store-cupboard meal but promoting the idea of pasta and curry sauce as a family meal just seems totally wrong ... sorry.
P.S. excuse the courtesy if you find it offensive to this site, sorry (there I go again) ...

What difference does it make if the sauce is 5p or thirty times more.............they are clearly selling at a loss to attract custom.

But surely selling a curry cook-in sauce for 5p has the opposite effect? You could strain out a baby's nappy and expect a better flavour to come out of that than what you'd find in that jar!!

I imagine it's like the stuff you get in a chip shop, probably ok. I don't think the op was seriously suggesting the pasta sauce combo as a decent meal

sorry, but 5p - shouldn't be eatting it! Don't want to sound a snob, but...!

So if it was the same product but £3 you would eat it?

Sounds pretty snobbish to me.

9p for Value Pasta?

In 2000 it was 25p for 500g. Used to live on the stuff in student digs.

5p for curry sauce, warm, call me when it's back to 3p again.

Nice sauce, chuck it over your frozen veg and voila! Vegetable curry, just add beans. Healthy too, until tomorrow when we will be told that curry causes oesophageal, liver, lung and mouth cancer in a third of Indians.

do you even know what you are talking about? i'll tell ya, you don't! There are no chemicals in this curry sauce because I always check the label. Just natural ingredients as far as i remember!
Also don't knock it till u try it! We had this pasta and curry sauce the other night and it wasn't as bad as you think. Not actually much different to curried noodles that you can buy.

I just love the way an item costing 5 pence can cause such high emotions - have some heat just for providing a great talking point with a wide range of viewpoints :)

Why is it that people only seem to be able to handle others likes and dislikes when high value items are in question? State that you love a cheap product and you get slated, if you hate it your a food snob! Personally im not a food snob but I still wouldnt touch this stuff! Perhaps because i think its going to be more watery than water or maybe its because I like my slow cooker curries too much!

Pasta and Curry sauce = Bogging

OK, the sauce isn't of same quality as Patak's or Loyd Grosman's - but add it to some chicken and do some basmati rice and it's a better than some ready meal curries....

I'm on nightshift at mo and one of my work mates is firing this sauce onto his micro chips / pizza - smells boggin but he seems to like it. . .. got a feeling he might be farting water tomorrow :)

Pasta and curry is just like rice and curry. Very nice.

Or perhaps it's just a taste acquired by students??

Gonna try and get to an ASDA to pick some up.

I'd say it's better than most if not all ready meal curries, just use this is a base and spice it up to your tastes, add your meat, veg and rice and you've got a good few meals sorted. Just a shame it has currants in it, but strained out easily enough.

Just got peckish so mixing another portion of this up now to have with my beans and toast. Need to stock up on this again tomorrow.

Aww ffs.Half of you that are going on about health issues are a bunch of hypocrites.Do you smoke? Do you drink alcohol? Do you go to McDonalds, Burger King or KFC?

This is probably better for you than all of the above. But no!!!! Stick a 5p label on it and it's not for you.

Guaranteed it's crap, but it's a cracking deal for the price.

Again this is going into a debate about if it is good for you or not. This is hotukdeals not hotukethical, hotuknongm or hotukupyourownass.

When it comes to food/health, HUKD has one of the worst for levels of snobbery I've ever seen online. No matter what you post, somebody will always jump in and announce how they wouldn't ever eat it or how they wouldn't be seen dead in the certain store it comes from.
For example a 'Tesco Finest' deal, would often be met with "Yuck, 30% of my days salt! No thanks! M&S have a much better version". But at the same time an M&S deal will be met with "Yuck, I won't touch M&S after reading about how they use barn eggs! I'll stick with Waitrose thanks very much!"
Similar things happen in pizza deals - when people feel the need to announce how bad pizza's are, as if by some inane reason everyone else previously thought pizza's were healthy!

Some choose not to give in to consumerism, though. Eating isn't really that important (in regards to 5p curry sauce vs £3 curry sauce), - as long as the doesn't kill you or make you puke what's the problem? 15p for a meal, eat that as your main course for a year and that's £50 spent. You'll probably spend half the day on the toilet, but £50 is what most spend on an average weeks shopping.

Ye Ye blah blah blah ! if you eat this your a tramp and if you feed this to your children they are better off in care. U can write another essay of drivel about that now :{

Right girls time to settle down now.
