Cold voters care to explain?

havent voted either way-I have no idea whether 50 quid is cheap or not having never attended a test match but people shouldnt be voting cold for that reason.

not actually very likely this game will reach a 5th day anyway is it?

5th Test usually goes to final day, yes - partly due to weather.

Great spot! Tickets ordered. Thanks.

do you get your money back though if finished on 4th day?????

Yes. But you don't if they finish really early on the fifth day. I think it's six overs they have to complete and you don't get your money back.

I suspect they think it's overpriced. They're right, of course, but still.

The last two Ashes Tests at The Oval went to fifth day due to rain interuptions. Not sure about 1997. I think 1993 did too (when it was 6th Test)? Check the records for yourself.

I used this logic to take a punt on paying £70 (for £15 tickets) for the last day at The Oval, several weeks in advance. A great day it was too. I could have got £1000 for them on the day...

£50 how come more than double when all the other 5th days have been 15-20 quid each?

You don't get your money back if the match finishes inside four days. Hence why there is availability for tickets. You are gambling on England not getting thrashed like they did in the last test. If the weather is good, Aussies will wack the poms in less than four days.

Where did you get that info from?

If the match is over in 4 days you get an automatic refund to the card the ticket was bought with if the 5th day is not required.

Other than that, if it is weather affected you get the following refunds:

a) No play - Full Refund
b) 10 overs or less - Full Refund
c) 10.1 overs - 24.5 overs - 50% Refund

Thats just coincidence though, this test could have a sunny 5 days, i really wouldn't make a choice on buying a ticket or not based on what the weather was 6 years ago :?

what has that got to do with it?:? And yes i did

you said that because the 5th ashes tests, 2 and 6 years ago had rain that is is highly likely there will be rain at this one, on what basis other than coincidence?

They didn't do automatic refunds at the last test match. I'm not sure whether people got their money back or not. Those who bought fifth day tickets in advance took the risk. The organizers were under no obligation to refund. Ian Botham said as much on Sky.
