Just called vrigin media to cancel the one asian channel we had for £10 and i was told i could have all the asian channel for £10. I wasnt sent any letter or anything only found out when i called to cancel. May be good for someone if they got one for £10 they can change to the asian package and still pay the £10.

Is this not what every ex-pat does when they decide to go to another country?

Good find to the OP.

I'd think so, but I cannot comment on overseas prices as I've never moved away. Is it £10 ?

good find op be usefull for some people
cant believe how small minded some people are

Seriously.. some people are messed up on here. Whether you are interested in it or not, this is an awesome deal. Extra channels for the same price as you are paying... seems a no brainer. I personaly don't watch any of these so won't be getting it, but can't see how this is getting cold votes!! Those that aren't interested should not vote, those that are will obviously find this hot :o
#13
Thank you all for the support and i didnt post this deal for people to argue like somone said only vote if this deal applies to you else just ignore it ..

No point arguing!!
#14
I'd rather watch Shree than bloody Eastenders, and I say that as a peely-wally couldn't get much whiter Scotsman.

The Welsh get their own channel and so do the Gaels. There are far more non-white brits than there are welsh speakers or gaelic speakers. Your TV license goes to pay for a lot of that programming. I don't see people complaining about that. I guess they speak the right kind of foreign language then?

We've got more things to worry about than people who don't look the same as us who want to pay hard-earned money to see telly in their mother tongue, ffs...

HOW IS THIS NOT HOT!

even this was a package on SKY it will be hot becasue it lower than the RRP

looks liek we are voting because it doesnt appeal to them

this site needs sorting out!
#17
Great find!!!

Can't believe how much the comments have 'strayed'... 2 words - Small Minded!!!

We are entering a new decade for gods sake... Multiculturalism has now become the norm, come out of the dark ages lol!
#18

Yes they will....it's £10 a month extra above the normal channels ....:?
#20
Well this is a good deal (if you can get it as a new customer) as asian channels on virgin media are too expensive as compared to sky.

seems you can get it if you are an existing customer and are calling VM to cancel.

also, don't worry about the negative comments, just ignore them, people making these comments belong to an isolated segment of society who tend to blame everything from weather to economy to jobs on expats living here.

Imagine if there were no 'expats' in this country, they would have picked up on people from a specific county or town or a local neighbourhood - just human nature.
#21
No brainer. Great deal for those who watch these channels. Thanks for posting. Heat/Rep added.
#22
Arent some of these channels already free on sat?
#23
james10999
Hardly anyone will watch these channels in the UK.

Don't know why there are so many to be honest. Shouldn't people be watching English TV channels? We live in Britian after all?

PRAT! what a narrow minded pathetic comment! typical scally!
#24
I personally don't like most of these channels (too much music/ noise for me) but have many friends that subscribe. Including white/ British friends that love Bollywood films or keep up to date wish Asian news.

It looks like a great deal - but, is this just a retention deal or available to all?
#25
Voted hot (Bolly-fiend that I am!!)
#26
a great deal OP. Virgin ain't cheap so good to get something from them even as a retention deal. Heat and Rep added busybees. The Asian channels appeal to a lot of people so virgin, sky etc carry them and guess what they earn money out of it. Fed up with the moronic comments it's like saying Brit expats in Spain should not watch English language channels 'cos they're in Spain!
#27
As far as the English language that is commony used today, Asians from Kenya are still called Asians......Asians from Carribean are also called Asians, Chinese from Malaysia are also called Chinese even when born here and there. This means all white Norwegians (Vikings) still called themselves as Vikings, Saxons are still Saxons, Hugenots are still Hugenots, Greeks are stills Greeks... and they are all white but not English just in the same way like Asians are Asians. Innuit Indians are Innuit Indians and are usually not called Canadians, Americans nor Icelanders. Another example, Michael Portillo is not English but is Portugese, likewise Prince Philip is Greek......I have not come across many indigeneous English in the same lineage and heritage like aborigines in Australia and Maori in New Zealand, most people I know have had their recent 2000 years blood history from overseas...even the Saxons Kings e.g. King Alfred etc..came from the continent. Even the English language is a modern defined language... its present day form not firmed up until the 16/17th Century which is very recent, and the English language has its roots in Latin with Scandinavia vacab, Norman French and more recent time a dialect of German from Northern Germany. So in the above someone who quoted English is a minority is probably right subject to interpretation... in my humble opinion the Gaelic Welsh is probably the most indigenous British /English but then again I am no historian and no archaeologist, I based my opinion on the longest residence of a people since the end of Ice Age.

As to watching TV channels, I don't see many ex-pat "Brits" watch local TV channels, this means all the white Australians and white New Zealanders, I mean that they have only been around in the countries just a short while and they sure not watch local aborigine TVs. Closer at home they don't watch Spanish TV in the Costa Del Sol etc.. Most people if not all tend to have a SKY box to catch up with Brits TV.

A hot deal anyway for a tenner a month, £10 a month is a great deal for any country package.

There is one huge difference tho'...No Spanish Broadcaster caters specifically for the British ex-pats.

Neither does virgin or sky, they cater for all. The Asian channels are a sub package which you can choose to add on. A lot of British expats have satellite dishes that can pick up UK TV too.

Doh, I give up too many morons on here have a problem with people watching what they want to even though thry pay extra for it. Still maintain this is a good deal which this forum is supposed to be about.

Yes I am well aware of that, I was just pointing out the difference inasmuch as no Spanish Broadcaster caters for any British Ex Pats, wheras, Sky and Virgin cater specifically for Asians, which is hugely different in my book.

I am not making any judgement on the fact.;-)

I cannot believe the number oif small minded ignorant comments that have been posted in this thread - I have not deleted them yet - if you have no interest in Asian TV what on earth are you doing in this thread? Trolling? Yes, that is it. Which is against the HUKD rules; so I shall be going through and cleaning up and infracting those responsible. Some are also racist, which is totally out of order, so if anyone wants a lengthy break from HUKD then post your pathetic tripe and I'll remove and suspend. Seriously, I am so angry at how utterly pathetic some of you have been in this thread.

Right
I've cleared up the worst of it and those of you who have "quoted" the deleted comments - I've removed your posts too (for obvious reasons)
If you have anything to say about this deal then please post but if all you want to do is start an argument; post trolling comments etc then don't bother. It isn't welcomed.
