Just bought one of these and it is very cheap for what it does, haven't seen an external sound card so cheap that has a line in. Now use this to record from my mixer to my laptop :D

Any one thinking of buying this for a Mac, I'd recommend tinkering with an app called Jack because driver support for Apple is non-existant and the OS doesn't really give you the control you want.

Having said that, the box does exactly what it says it does and it is very cheap for what it is. With that cheapness comes a few missing features. All the inputs are stereo only and the bit stream suport is pretty low so no good to run a PS3 or Blu-Ray out of. But if you need a quick way of getting multi channel output out of a laptop, this will work.

Heat added. Thanks OP :-)

does this work outputting dts/dd in windows 7 ?

"C-Media value added patent software driver" - Stay away. Drivers for these things are pants. This card is no good for sound recording or for listening to music. As the guy above said, you get what you pay for.

i was looking for something to use my pc 7.1 speaker with my tv, when using laptop for video - and this looks ideal.
Also from reviews looks like the ideal solution - and it works. Some reviews, and on ebuyer forum say you need to update the drivers.

BUT similar things on Ebay too - for less i am sure. but hot - seeing as I have a free delivery voucher...

I had this delivered last week - overall I am very happy with. Noticable improvement in sound quality and volume over my onboard sound card. I wouldn't ponder too hard 75+ 5 star reviews on Ebuyer and I can confirm it is a good device.

FYI the price of this has been the same for quite some time now.

I think it's £13.51 with the cheapest postage option. Good price.
