Surprised this hasn't dropped in price that heavily on PC yet. £15.99 @ CDkeys, £19.99 @ GMG & Steam.
Not seen it priced this low, looks a decent deal.

As usual with Amazon US digital purchases, just use/add an American address (Alaskan usually best, avoid fees) to your normal existing account to buy, get the key, activate on Steam, and then download.

It's been around this price a couple of times before, but this is surely the best price available right now.

Heat.

Great price for a good game - only just started playing it though. But the word is it's the best in the series.

Not great. FPS jump all over the place, mostly up to 60, but then falls to 30-40 randomly. What I found solved it was locking FPS to 30 via Radeon Pro then maxing the settings. Constant 30 from then on. The Anvil engine has issues no doubt. Hardware I used was FX8350 and 7970 DCUII @1.1GHz.

As for the deal, you can get this off eBay for less. I bought it for £8 from someone who got a code with their Nvidia gpu.

Good price however wasn't there a story a while back where Steam were retroactively applying region locks to certain titles? I've never wanted to try buying games from other regions via Steam after hearing about it - anyone know if this is a legitimate concern?

Regarding fps jumps, this game is a **** for it, anyone with this problem should try D3DOverrider which will force triple buffering and v-sync thereby eliminating harsh jumps from 30-60fps. I use it now on every game that it supports but AC4 is a stand out case for it's use.

That was supposed to be only for stolen codes for sniper elite 3 though this has not been fully cleared up yet. Most games are not region locked in that they are sold as worldwide keys, so should not have the potential to be retrospectively region locked, I think most developers cannot be bothered implementing it. It is worth a google first though for each particular game.
I hope steam do not start introducing region locking as I think that will be the beginning of the end for the platform.

On the other point - it runs fine for me smooth at 1080, my pc is pretty new but still has a relatively low end graphics card HD6850 (did not have cash to upgrade that yet).

What settings?
Sorry cannot say off the top of my head as I am not at my gaming PC at the moment. But it looks good.

I'm on a GTX 770 @ 1280MHz with and I7 [email protected] and play on mostly very high settings:

Res: 1080p 60Hz
Environment: Very High
Texture Quality: High
AA: SMAA
Shadows: Very High
Reflections: High
Motion Blur: Off
Ambient Occlusion: HBAO+ (Low)
God Rays: Low
Volumetric Fog: Off
V-Sync: Off (D3DOverrider takes care of this)
PhysX: Off

However without D3DOverrider, the jumps between 60fps and 30fps are unbearable. Some people seem to be able to tolerate it but if I can't maintain 55-60fps all the time, I get annoyed. The above settings took me a long time to settle on because as with most games, you think you've found the right balance of settings then you hit a new area that uses a different combination of assets/features/effects and you get a dip in fps. The above gives me solid 55-60fps in all areas I've been to thus far, whish is most of the islands.

Anyone interested in what they're missing out on by not forcing Triple Buffering in games that don't support it natively should read this.

El Siccse, try installing MSI AfterBurner and enable the OSD in game so you can monitor your frame rate, if you can't tell by eye you should certainly see the 30-60 jumps in the figures. Then again, if your graphics isn't particularly high end, maybe you're only managing 30fps max anyway (if v-sync is on) and that's why you can't see it.
