Great price but the game itself is very repetitive - it's the same couple of missions over n over again!

Some great ideas in the game though, which they obviously then focused on when making the brilliant Assassins Creed II.

Heat added..

I never really enjoyed the game when I played it, but you can't argue at a price like that.

Heat added.

I also never really liked it, and personally I would rather have a good experience for a high price than a bad experience for a low price, but it does provide eye candy I suppose.
#4
Just played it and enjoyed it. Great game for it's age, as above said rather repetitive. Pretty essential you play this to understand the storyline before you play the brilliant sequel.

Rush through this game and then put some decent time into the far superior sequel if you'd like to get into the sci-fi ish storyline, and get the full experience of the series.
This first game still has some cool little moments, but can be very frustrating and boring at times.

The sequel truly is a fantastic game that you can pick up for around £10.

There's a new Assassin's creed due out in a month, too.

Hmm.... amongst my collection of "games I own but haven't really had time to play yet" is Assasin's creed 2. So, basically I really shouldn't skip this game? It's hard to play through a game if it's not that great. :| Repetitive quickly becomes annoying. I've just finished GTA 4 and struggled a bit to have the enthusiasm to finish it as it got repetitive. How long is the game?

Depends on how bothered you are about understanding the story - you won't have a clue if you just start the second as it follows on. 1 is a very good game, it's only after playing the 2nd that you think 1 is not that great in comparison.

I disagree. I have just finished 100%ing the sequel, and I needed nothing from the first game. I didn't even know they were linked until afterward. What you do in the game is repetitive, as in climb, assassinate, fight, climb, et cetera, but the missions differ, and the story carries it through easily. I'd recommend it to all. There's something twistedly satisfying about killing a large number of opponents with one hit each. Super assassin smugness.(_;)

Oh, and if you start looking at buildings in real life, looking for hand holds, and assessing what would be the easiest route to climb them - like I did - take a break.oO

I can't see how you avoid paying the £5.99 postage either so I might as well order it from GAME at £4.99 then.

I had the postage problem last week, I just ordered my game (Super Mario Galaxy for Wii), paid the £5.99, then emailed customer services who called me the next day - apologised and refunded the £5.99 to my card. It says all over their site that it's free postage for preowned games so it must be some sort of glitch (I wonder how many people don't email customer services though!!!)
