Better photo of the "GAME Exclusive" figurine on the (sister) Gameplay site...

http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/images/products/PX0145_1_lq.jpg

Shows how much better the Game(play) figurine is compared to the ShopTo.net one...

http://uk2.shopto.net/boxart/PS3AS01.jpg

That, incidentally, together with the Xbox360 figure edition, is listed with a release date of "30/11/2007" & "Pre-order temporarily stopped".

Nice Find! Heat & Rep added.

Just a word of warning... this game has had much hype around it however 3 major problems come up.

1) repetitive gameplay
2) no multiplayer
3) extremely stupid AI

I've played a good 3 hours on this on the 360, and found it gets very repetitive. I also found the story telling too intrusive (ie, cut scenes every 5 minutes and you can't skip them)..

It'll make you go 'wow' for a while though - and obviously this is a good deal if you're desperate for the game..

Anyone know if there is any difference between the PS3 and 360 versions?

Thanks

No, having multiplayer tacked onto games is extremely annoying when they don't need it, I'm glad it doesn't have any, it's pointless diverting resources to making a multiplayer mode because the possibility is there. In a game like COD4 and Halo 3 it's necessary, with this type of game it isn't and I'm glad they avoided it.

The AI is decent from my experience, it is, however, a bit repetitive, but then it won't last much longer than ten hours, so hardly a whitewash.

None whatsoever except you get Achievements in the 360 version.

I hope this game allows you to play 3rd person over the shoulder view - I hate those button masher games like Heavenly Sword etc. Graphics do look amazing, and i like the interactivity with the surrounding environment.
#12
surely this is a misprice, as the collectors rrp is £59.99 i think. Or has it changed to £45?
#13
I am so tempted to buy this, but it's either this or COD4, and I love the multiplayer aspect in COD.

It's not a button masher per se, but there isn't an over-the-shoulder view. It's decent, but nothing amazing.

Agree with Adamo, while i can see where your coming from with regards to AI initially the will attack in a more aggresive form, after a few initial kills they go into defensive. Although i can see what you mean surely 5 guys around one would just go hell for leather but i cant say much else besides this lets this game down in anyway for me

Apprently the ps3 has frame rate issues

"The cities, as I stated earlier, are truly remarkable pieces of art. These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a severe cost on PS3. There is considerable texture pop-in and noticeable framerate issues. Playing back-to-back with the 360 version, it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition. The framerate is considerably worse, so much so that it begins to affect gameplay in the later levels. You can get through the first two-thirds of Assassin with the framerate being just an annoyance, but it becomes more of an issue for the final third of the missions"

From IGN review

The Citys are HUGE,The graphics are good, but its repetative.

For those who can wait, this so called next gen epic is buy UBI soft and because most reviews where less then favourable there is every chance it will not sell quite as well as they would have predicted and because it is buy UBI soft who tend to be overly optimistic in the quantity that they produce anyway I am willing to bet that it will be heavily discounted on the run up to Christmas to help shift sticking stock!

Christmas number 1 maybe!

£25 or less @ PLAY or AMAZON!

For anyone interested movietye.com have this at £32.99 delievered.
I have used them many times before and postage usually takes a week or so.
It seems this is an American site but postage occurs within the UK. All games are UK games! It does however appear to be the normal game (not special edition)
They also have the sixaxis controller at £20.99 which is the cheapest available (to my knowledge)..

Though, that is the std version not the collector edition.

Agreed - still a good price though..
Going back to region of game, i looked at the site and it appears that it may be a US version. This is not a problem as all PS3 games to date are region free so will play on any console (from Japan, US, UK, etc etc)

Great Price and i would have gone for it but play-asia have just shipped the XBOX360 region free Asia ltd edition with figure, which i preordered October 2006, one which i forgot about
