Just got back from Rawtenstall ASDA and I have seen a sign stating the deal. I presume it will be nationwide as it was on a small board. Assassins Creed 2 for PS3 (and probably XBOX360) for £34.71 … Read More

Assassins Creed 2 for PS3 (and probably XBOX360) for £34.71
Released on 20/11/2009

Cheapest I have seen it online is for around £37.
You're only saving a couple of pound but it's better than nothing.

I think people will have lost faith in pre-orders after paying £35-£40 sometimes months in advance only for MW2 to be available for £20 on the release date.
#2
will wait for sainsburys price as i got a £3 off the purchase of assassins creed when i bought cod! but good price
#3
Exactly... If they can SELL COD for 26 quid, then this will do the same.. Its now a bench mark for new games i would say. HOPEFULLY!
#4
i dont think this will go under £30 anywhere as it wont be as big as cod! i hope it does but i wouldnt be surprised if this was the lowest
#5
There's barely any hype for this game like there was for COD:MW2. My personal opinion is that the supermarkets wont be trying to undercut each other with this game. It would be nice if they continued the trend but for stores selling COD for £25 wont do it again with a less hyped game.

Not a bad starting price, but remember the last one, copies flooded everywhere - prices dropped within a week (s) if you can hold fire.

thats exactly what im thinking, if cod and uncharted can last me til xmas, i can see this being the magical £17.99 in January!
#8
i quite fancy this game, hopefully it reduce even more

I orderd one from argos month ago for about £24.89 i think. Braught the first one for £50 :w00t: when i got my ps3. I had a mad brain laps spending that stupid amount on a game. But then again i loved it ! So the countdown is on for the 20th :)

A mate told me Morrisons are going to do it for £29.41 when bought with a packer of Opal Fruits...

:-D

In that case I bet Tesco undercut them as long as you also buy something else at the same time (which mysteriously have just been increased in price as soon as the deal is launched)

anyone know of anywhere doing it any cheaper?

#18
Well it's 37 quid in Sainsbury's so I guess the supermarket's won't be going all out on this one, not really surprising to be honest though.

Back in stock for both PS3 and 360:

Assassin's Creed 2: Black Edition

I reckon some people have got the email letting them know they were about to be charged for it, suddenly thought, 'What the hell am I doing spending £70 on a game?!?!' and just cancelled their (long-forgotten) pre-order. I know that's pretty much what happened to me with MW2:PE! Hoping this gets delivered tomorrow, I Heart AC... :-D

Where are the amazing supermarket deals? They've set a precedent and I expect my bargain :)
Plus it's my birthday so I have the day off work to run around like a headless chicken buying things.

...if you are a Makro Card holder (& hence a VAT registered customer)... or £25.99 in Morrisons.

But yes, I only pre-order Limited Edition/Collector's Edition items now from retailers than have exclusive deals with the publishers, &/or those that will only charge the lowest price between your pre-order amount & the actual sale amount on the day of release (e.g. GAME.co.uk).

I was quite disappointed to see that Asda didn't have "Assassin's Creed II" for £25 like all their Top 10 chart titles at present.

If it does enter the Top 10 next week, then it may then be available for less than the £34.71 spotted today.

But it is a tricky gamble, as they may increase the price too.

Either way, if you are buying for a Christmas present then I would advise waiting to gain the best price.

BFN,

fp.
