I don't really understand the deal here. It says £19.99
6 Months Direct Debit + FREE Assassins Creed 2 for PS3

So the Empire deal is not for 12 months but for 6 months making it a better deal at 19.99

minimum 12 month term:thumbsup:

much prefer to get empire magazine tho...
£25 for 12 issues without ac2 which is wat im prob gona go for incase they replace the game with travel vouchers(they did this to my mate)
#7
I do want this game but this deal would mean bringing fhm into my house which I'd really prefer to avoid
#8
SO what we're saying is... Assassin's Creed 2 for ps3 or 360 + 12 magazines of either FHM or Empire... For under £30 (25 w/ Quidco)??... Am I missing something? :-D
#9
don't be surprised if you dont get the game. I went for this when they were offering the original Assassins creed.. it never came. They've the right to change the gift at any time and replace it with one of "equal value"... they sent me, and others that went for it on the xbox forums, a plane ticket to france instead..where you were "encouraged" to book at a hotel future publishings had an advertising deal with. Basically a scam to get you to sub with one of their mags.

Only go for it if you're wanting a 12month sub with one of the mags anyway..that way anything else is a bonus.
#10
Rated cold from me. You'll just end up with holiday vouchers!
#11
I'm not voting, last time it was a big scam as they had some detailing saying they could give you £25 equivilaent or whatever, which meant a £25 game became £25 worthless vouchers.

Only buy it if you actual want the magazines too as you may not get your gift, it might depend on demand
#12
I must have been one of the only people to get the orginal assassins creed doing this deal then, mine turned up no problems within about 3 weeks. I guess its just luck then.

Mine turned up as well,
but one thing i will say is after you get your game cancel the subscribe over the phone (phone the International +44 (0) 1858 438866 number & just change the +44 with a 0 so it's a free call on most of you moblies, if you get free minutes on your phone) because in 12 months time they will take another £30 out of your bank without telling you & you'll just get the magazine no game, like they did with me.
but after a phone call to them, they said they're willing to send me the new game  instead of me trying to cancel & get
my money back (which i would have had to send a letter to them & more)

So if you do go for it, cancel the subscribe after you get the game & you'll still get the magazine for 12 months :whistling:

Don't do it, you may be one of the lucky ones to get a game.
AVOID

If you do get the game, CEX will give you £29 for it CASH - so really the magazine subscription is only costing you 99p!

I paid £15 for the year, got £5 back via quidco, got 2 free xbox360 games that i sold for £12 on ebay, so got FHM free for the year and made £2 profit
#21
I did the Film + Far Cry 2 deal last Xmas, that game turned up no problem.

I don't know if this is the same publishing company though.....

And it could have been Empire magazine, I only did it for the game and couldn't give the magazine away!
#22
I tried this deal two Christmas's ago. Deal was for Assassin's Creed 1 and I ended up with holiday vouchers. The chap on the phone cancelled the subscription without argument when I complained - sounded like it wasn't his first call on the matter ...
#23
scam avoid - unless you have time to write complaints--sorry i know
#24
I got my 3 games last time but the magazine is poor......
#25
Scam, most people will not get AC2.

I ended up with a plane ticket last time and got a refund on my sub minus the price of 2 issues which they had already sent me.
#26
I have previously taken two of these offers and both times have got the games so it would appear to be a bit of a lottery. Incidently anyone want a years back issues of unopened FHM?
#27
it worked for me before, condemned2 and the club both came as per the offer. Hot!
#28
Was going to give this to OH for xmas, but after the stories on here I will give it a miss, thanks for the tips guys :thumbsup:P

have you not read the thread?

if the game turns up

I, too, got the first Assassin's Creed a couple years ago when a similar offer was on.
Not sure that's a good thing, mind. Absolutely beautiful game, that got boring/repetitive very quickly...

For those not sure about whether you'd get the game, but want the magazine there are a few other offers on. For instance:
£12.00 for a year, no free gift.
£15.00 for a year, with a free dvd or a free game.
£25.00 for a year, includes 3 free blu-ray films.

Don't ask me how they can get away with charging different prices for the same product and payment method, the charge varying depending on the free gift included.
#33
I went for the offer before on Assassins creed and got the useless holiday vouchers, they argued with me over a refund and only when I told them I was going to speak to trading standards and that I had a printed copy of all the webpages and t&c's when I took out the offer did they give the money back. Scam Scam Scam Scam Scam.
#34
I got my copy of the first game within a few weeks by doing this, worth a punt if you ask me.
#35
It says free gift worth £49.99 on the website, so a good film magazine and somet free worth nifty squid aint that bad, whatever you end up with!

Well, the "free flight" vouchers would have cost me something like £380 to spend a weekend in Amsterdam which erm, isn't very cheap when I could have done the same from a local airport for less than £50. Just because some people got lucky doesn't mean all will and I certainly wouldn't bother with them again, just sayin' you know!
#37
Agree with previous posters that it's just a scam, i'll never touch a Future publishing mag again. I ended up with the worthless holiday vouchers last time, if you cantact them they feed you a pack of lies, even told me they would refund me fully if I returned the vouchers - I did and of course never received a refund.
#38
i took this out last time but due to over demand i got two sub standard ps3 games, haze and rainbow vegas six, but than again worked out £12 for 12 subscription of fhm and 2 ps3 games, i doubt many will get assasins creed 2, not voted on this one.

What an idiotic thing to say. Are lottery tickets a 'HOT' deal, because IF you win, you'll be a millionaire?

Look at it this way: we're not allowed to included quidco reductions in the price, other than in brackets as a reminder, because quidco payouts are not guaranteed, and not everyone can get them. How much more does this apply to a game that not everyone can get?

Look at the freaking subject. The game is the point of the post, but you're really gambling that you'll get it, and from the sounds of it a lot of people won't. Ergo it's not a hot deal, it's a lukewarm lottery.

The 'deal' is really for the magazine, and it's not that hot - because just about nobody on here cares about the magazine.
