Was thinking of picking up Black Flag for 12quid from Cex. How does this compare?

Black flag is miles better in my opinion. Don't get me wrong Unity looks great, it just felt poor in comparison

I'm actually glad it was buggy on release- it is now largely fixed and incredibly good graphics, but it's image was damaged which is why I assume it has dropped like this in price. It is very good game for the money now IMO.

i picked up a copy from Tesco at the same price. but bought this with my bespokeoffer amazon credit and have also sold my still wrapped Tesco copy on eBay for £35

AC: unity at a total outlay of £2.50 can't go wrong

Apparently they are going to give away the first DLC - Dead Kings for this as well, So even better deal.

Have they fixed the bugs? Because I gather they just about 'broke' the game with some pretty serious (or hilarious, depending on your viewpoint) visual anomalies - see screenshots here.

It's a great price, but do remember it is a yearly release.

This time next year we'll be talking about a reduced price for Assassin's Creed Victory.

Least horror film makers have some creative ideas on how to make a scary looking character :)
Bet many children have been scared by some of those bugs lol.

Yes the bugs are fixed (PS4 experience) although I've hardly run into any issues with the game bar the under-par framerate. Worth the £25 as I said in another thread. Clocked in at least 20 hours and I'm loving the game so far.

Animations and customisation of character are superb and coop is good fun with a friend or by yourself. Story is so-so, not as good as AC4 but I enjoy it more for the gameplay which is great this time round as well

I've got to admit that it's a shame that "next gen" has failed pretty hard, but considering I can pick up the latest releases for £20-30, it soothes a bit of the pain!

Unfortunately upgrading from PS3 to PS4 (Or 360>One) is pretty much like buying a £50-100 GPU upgrade for your PC. You don't get any added features from the last one you had and usually you can only afford a 720>1080 upgrade, the FPS is usually the same.

Black flag probably the best in the series IMO

Didn't like black flag so will give this a miss but heat for the price, shadow of mordor is excellent btw :)

Just to clear things up the game was never broken, I played it from the start, minor issues including framerate but it was very playable before any patch and I really enjoyed completing it.

I'm far from an expert but am going to get a PS4 when the price comes do a little bit more or the bundles get bigger. I have not had a console since the N64, I would say GoldenEye is my fav. game by some distance.....anyway do you think they will release hardware ungrades for the PS4 in the future or will we have to wait for the PS5?

Yes for sure, wait until e3. They will have a ps4 with a larger hard drive, maybe a slim or better looking version. Bundles are getting cheaper. Just wait.

That's a long time to wait...I was thinking more like January 2015. :)

In technical terms, not here is nothing wrong with the game any more.
Most issues were fixed with patch 3 last month.

However, Unity's issues all lie with the simply terrible game.
Basic mechanics removed, a pathetic attempt at an RPG style upgrade system, the simply unforgivable requirement to run the AC app and AC initiates to open chests.
I'm a die hard Assassin's Creed fan, and can look past a lot for the amazing story, but Unity is a massive step backwards in the series.
It's unforgivable what Ubisoft have done to this game.

Just got it.. Played for half hour whilst patch downloaded- frame rate not great. Just installed patch, and is massively improved. A bit of pop in of people on street, but graphics incredibly impressive.

This, the crew and far cry all dropping. Ubisoft trying to shift as many copies. Hope this will be a lesson to them about releasing unfinished games.

got it in Asda today same price.

Any framerate less than 60 is a broken game.

I don't know about you but glitches like that really make the game for me. The amount of ragdoll physic glitches in Battlefield Bad Company 2 was hilarious. Some truly memorable gaming moments.
#32
Played it to completion. Thoroughly enjoyed it and did not see many bugs apart from a handful of times of framerate slowdown. Black Flag was far more enjoyable and was a better game overall but the graphics in unity were amazing. Definately worth it at £25.

Two quick questions....

1) does this have cool stuff equivelent to black flag (ie equivalents in fun to taking over forts and attacking ships) or is it old school assassins creed?
2) how does this compare to the Xbox one version? I have both machines so generally buy the best version

Was considering going to pick this up cheap until I read that they spend a lot of time trying to peddle microtransactions at you, screw that.

trash game, worst of the franchise, only +1 is the graphics and environment - animation are good.
