The flexible ones were a fiver at the weekend so if they are down to this price I will grab one or four tomorrow.

just what I need, which stores have these been seen in??

Don't buy the flexible ones. Bought a couple in the Autumn. First sign of frost and the plastic snapped on both of them. Don't waste your money.
#5
agreed ...the flat ones are useless

No, non-flex. Found these in Tidworth

The flat blades at Tesco are really cheap looking.

I have to second the negative comments about the flat ones - but only to a point. If your car came new with flat blades it will most likely be fine... however, I used to have an old mercedes c class (10 years old). I replaced the regular wiper with a flat one (correct size and recommended for my car) and it mashed up the wiper motor. I changed that myself which cost me £150 for parts. Done at a dealer would have been £700.

Had a similar incident with my mother's BMW, though not as catastrophic.

After having said all that, both our current cars came with flat blades and they work a treat, even in the frosty weather. I think that's why we have ice scrapers!

I will third negative comments on the flat ones. Very annoyed I paid full price, £16 for a pair, before they were bogof then half price.

Great, have a clear windscreen just to please the MOT tester - never mind about actually seeing through the windscreen :-D

TBH cheap wiper blades mean one thing for me - SQUEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK.

Not worth it when I can buy Champion Aerovantage blades from a local motor factor for £9 a pair.

I've got the Tesco flat wiper blades (24" & 22") and find that the longer of the two blades doesn't really clear the screen very well at the edges, not sure if it's not stiff enough for the length of the blade. Worth a try, but I'll stick to conventional blades - might even get another set from Tesco at this price, I had the normal set from Tesco before and they worked squeak free.

Wiper blades are one of the things on my car I don't mind spending a bit more on. Good ones will last longer, be quieter, wipe better, and streak less. What you don't want is to have trouble seeing out of the windscreen because you chose to save a few pounds on el-cheapo wiperblades!

Shame they don't do new Renault Scenic ones. They retail for £50 a pair from a dealer only or around £30 from Fleabay. Gone through two pairs in as many years - both split. S***t quality for the money. :?

You don't need anything special, you certainly don't need to buy them from the dealer.

Couldn't find any (for £0.74) in Aberdeen store.

Bought the blade type 22 inch one for £3.91 as I was about to drive to Tesco and my wiper split with the frost when I lifted it to scrape the window without first spraying it with de-icer.

It seems to work very well, but I guess after the warnings above I need to spray on a bit of deicer and clear he other windows first before lifting the blade to scrape the screen.

I just bought a couple. A 24" and 18".
They look OK, and the integral spoiler is a nice touch and £3.91 each is a good price.

However I will be returning mine, as these wiper blades are for LHD cars.
The spoiler is upside down on our RHD cars, and I suspect this will encourage them to lift off the screen.
I would steer clear of them if I were you.
