Had a look in my local (Stevenage) Home Bargains and saw these Giant Banyan Tree Nanoblock kits, as well as the Mont Saint Michel kit which is selling for £8+ elsewhere. Think of nanoblock as tiny Japanese lego! The shelf said assorted so you might find different ones - I keep going back hoping for more as they're great! Quite challenging to build, very fun, good if you have an older or super smart kid or for someone who loves Japan! Think it's national but first deal so be gentle if it isn't ^_^

Interesting that the 4x2 nanoblock bricks are exactly the same size as a 1x2 lego plate

I think you're right about it being national as it was posted by someone else last week but for a different set animals I think it was.

Yes I saw those in poundland they're good however they are a completely different type of set that comes in bags, all of these are boxed sets which are great as gifts (shh don't tell my family ;) )

I didn't see a post on HUKD about it though? Did you post one that I missed? These two sets are £8 each cheapest elsewhere possibly not including p&p and I know a lot of lego stuff is already OOS in many places and this makes a nice change - much more challenging than lego I was surprised! Did you get either set? I've not built Mont Saint Michel as it's a present but looks good! I thought stocking fillers but the boxes are about 5x5x1" so perhaps only for the large-footed :D

I bought three of these sets from my Home Bargains a couple of months ago for my son's birthday, there was the tree one, St. Michel and a temple one. I keep going back but all they've had since is more of the tree sets. My son loved them (he's 11), each one took him 1-2 hours to make. I've since bought a load of them from amazon (they have a decent selection), zavvi have a few sets too.

Yes I already commented above about the poundland ones - 99p in poundland though? Really? I meant I'd seen the post about them in poundland on here, not seen them in poundland myself yet so if you say they've loads I'll go have a look, thanks :)

They'll be in small bags, I heard they had santa/snowman pig/another animal but I've not actually seen any instore yet. They're not like these boxed ones but still sell for about £5 so well worth it if you can find them!
