Description from living social..

If you're not already salivating at the prospect of today's turbo-charged deal, you'd best check that you're still alive. We've teamed up with Pulse Racing to get you behind the wheels of three Aston Martins in a single day: a DB9, a Vanquish, and a Vantage racer (of which there are only 100 in the world). The only part that won't have your adrenaline pumping is the price: just £89 for £399 worth of track time. Spend half a day at the circuit, including a briefing with a top Formula One instructor (who may or may not be The Stig), and race in each magnificent machine. Buy today's deal before it roars into the sunset, or be left choking in the slipstream.

seems like a sick deal!

am i allowed to put my own link on this? so people buy through my user id or is that against site rules?

stil showing as available for me?

Not a bad deal really. It probably costs £89 to fuel an Aston Martin for an hour on a track!

What numbnut would pay £400 quid to do this? £89 is a regular price, and even then its a let down. Go carting - its a million times more fun.
#12
Brilliant price.
#13
If you'd been on one of these days you'd realise.
#14
How long are you actually on the track in a car? Half a day sounds awesome, but I'm betting it's more like 5 - 10 minutes... if you're lucky :)
#15
vantage racer appears to be the track car?! which would just be bucket seats a rollcage a sequential gear box and a whole lot of power under your right foot. Am I thinking of the right one? lol that would be pretty awesome

Each session is normally 6 laps and to describe it as racing is idiotic. it is an 'experience'... that is very boring.

3 laps in each car = 9 laps for £89. Average price IMO.

No way is it worth £400. There's even a link on the 'official' site referring to the deal.

seen any deals on renting one of these rather than the 500-1000 per weekend?
#19
Normally the track days that are expensive are the good ones I.e ones where you can put your foot down.

Surely by that logic if it normally 400 quid its one of the more expensive 'better' days...or they are just trying to lure you in with the high rrp to make you think its good but actually more in line with what clipper said?

Not race tracks, Santa pod is drag strip and York one appears to be a rally school. Nice cars shame about locations!

I think the USP in this deal is you get to drive an Aston and not a stupid go kart, how old are you ?:p

"Lap" on the North Weald Sprint Circuit is pushing the description a bit - It's a piece of tarmac with a circuit coned out.
The punters will turn up and spend most of the time queuing for their turn to take an Aston out for 3 "laps" and then the same for the other 2 cars. The "laps" are so tight you wont be able to open the taps. Plus - push the car to hard and you'll find the numbnut in the passenger seat hitting the engine kill switch.
These experiences are ok for £89, but I'll pretty much guarantee you'll not bother doing one again.

£400 ? FO !! Maybe for a morning at Brands / Silverstone. But not for 10 minutes or so threading an Aston through some road cones on an airdrome in West Essex

all your post seem to be "getting at" people, the idea of this forum is deals, not whether you like go karting.

an experience means something like a once in a lifetime thing, ie driving an aston martin, and for a price its worth it.

i paid £800 to go to palmersport driving experience, it was £800 well spent.

other experiences are good thats why there called once in a lifetime.

I drove an aston and ferrari on my track day - I'm just trying to warn people how overated this is. Just one big yawn. Btw I'm 34.

Just what I was going to say. It doesn't look much like an actual track day, rather just driving fast in a straight line...

The vauxhall VXR track days are better value for money in terms of driving time

In attacking Clipper, you're missing the salient point here. £89 is good but not a great deal for this track day. Do a quick google and you'll see plenty of similar experiences for around the same price, and at these prices it's certainly not a once in a lifetime experience. I paid £400 for a Porsche track day at Brands Hatch and thought it was worth every penny. I suspect I would leave feeling disappointed if I were to do this one.

Agreed. They're subsidised by Vauxhall and are great value for money.

Can you keep the cars at the end of the session? :p

can I ask where did you get it for £800 from please?
was it the full day? I've struggled to find prices in 3 figures in the past. £800 is a good price for a day at PS

Having driven Astons around 2 GP tracks and done a fair bit of karting - you can keep the smelly, slow karts found at most industrial sites - Astons are loads more fun. Admitted some karts are great - just not the ones available to the general public. As for the deal, doesn't seem great but a good opportunity if you want to drive these cars.

Thank you for posting this, My mum will love this.. have got it for her 60th!

its been her dream to drive one of these!

Karting is for kids - do a track day in your own car, that's much more fun.
#39
A track day would be much more fun than karting - agreed. This however is not a track day. It is bog standard for the money and is marked up to sell low.
#40
Personally I don't think this would have anywhere near as much heat if the title stated that you get 3 laps in 3 cars!

I think this is a cold deal, I wouldn't give up half a day of my life and £89 for 9 laps. COLD
