I know there have been a lot of football deals recently but I think this is a good deal for two premiership teams in the FA Cup. ( sorry if posted, did just do a quick search and couldn't find it)

Saturday January 29 – 1.00pm
FA Cup - Sponsored by e-On: Fourth round
Villa Park
Cup Competition

Ticket Prices

North Stand Lower: £10 [adults], £10 [concessions], £5 [under-16s]
North Stand Upper and Family Stand: £18 [adults], £15 [concessions], £5 [under-16s]
Holte End: £18 [adults], £15 [concessions], £10 [under-16s]
Doug Ellis and Trinity Central: £20 [adults], £18 [concessions], £10 [under-16s]
Wheelchair Tickets - available by calling the Consumer Sales Department on 0800 612 0970

^^^( thanks to Villa for this information that he posted in the thread)^^^

£10 adult tickets are seated in the North Stand and are around £10 to £15 cheaper than tickets to a premiership game at Villa park

I know this deal won't be for everyone but for a father and child to see two premiership teams play for £15 I think its a great deal.

Good price at £10 at the end, I know most of the tickets are £20 but there are quite a few in the end section that are £10 and for that price you can't go wrong.

Booked some in the lower north stand, kids are £5. Got to be worth it just for the experience of a premier league class game.

Suprised No villa fans posted that Darren Bent was avialable for £24million. Got to be the bargain of the season... not

Even Robbie Keane laughed and said "why would I want to go to the Sty?"

Robbie Keane - who is he? doesn't play anymore does he? :P

DB will only cost Villa the full £24m if various achievements are reached - including Villa qualifying for the Champions League. If Villa and DB do that well together, £24m will be a bargain! If they don't do that well together he'll cost £18m. As you quoted the £24m figure, I assume you think Villa and DB will do very well.

If you don't think DB will succeed at Villa, stick to the £18m figure - you can't have it both ways, although I'm sure you'd prefer that.

Bent is a good player but the transfer market is crazy these days, especially with english talent, they cost twice as much as a comparable foreign player.

There are plenty of foreign players, who have cost towards what DB cost, that failed in the Premier League. DB has a proven goal record at the top level in the league that Villa play in. That's why he cost big bucks. If he helps keep Villa up this season he'll have paid for himself twice over.

This is very true, but I do think the prices are getting slightly out of hand these days. Bent is a good player, used to watch him most weeks when he played for Charlton

Prices have been ridiculous for years. Chelsea's hundreds of millions made it worse and Manchester City have compounded the issue. Manchester City paid £24m for a mediocre defender back in 2009, for example. In the context of the Premier League over the last 10 years, £18m for Darren Bent's proven record in the Premier League is either about right, or if he helps keep Villa up, a bargain.

All I know is, Bent popped up and scored the winner on his debut whilst my beloved Hammers stuttered to another Championship-baiting draw :-(

Yeah i think Bent will do well at the villa, is he worth that kind of money? remains to be seen. I think most clubs in the premiership (outside the top 6) would like have Robbie Keane in their squad.

For the first time in four years Villa will find themselves outside the top 6 and yet it would appear that Villa comfortably chose Bent over Keane. Villa have had too many strikers who seem eager to do everything but score. Finally they have a player who's focus is putting the ball in the back of the net.

two wins in the last two matches, things are on the up for Villa, and with the league being so close I reckon they could get into the top 8 still
