Supporters are urged to come down to Villa Park in big numbers for the mouth-watering game against Manchester City - with hotshot striker Darren Bent in line for his home debut in claret and blue.

Villa Park has been buzzing with the news of Bent's arrival and Gerard Houllier looks set to call upon the star forward for the massive clash with Roberto Mancini's men.

If history tells us anything, it's that Bent is a lucky omen against the top-of-the-table side, having bagged the winner earlier in the season against them for Sunderland.

The match takes place on Saturday January 22, with a 5.30pm kick-off.

This offer is ONLY available to buy online or by visiting the City Centre Store on New Street and is only applicable to tickets purchased in the North Stand Lower or Holte End Lower Wings.

Another great deal at the Villa, should be a party atmosphere before the game and hopefully at the end!
Making my season ticket look expensive now!

Good luck DB hope it works out for ya bud.
Money talks eh.
Last few games he was poor and must have known, no hard feelings DB.

Upper trinity wings are so high you need oxygen masks, make the most of it folks won't be cheap again now we've started buying new players at £18m or is it £24m. Wouldn't it be good to beat Citeh with goals from Bent who was bought from the ridiculous fee they paid us for Milner.
Fill yer boots at these prices get the kids there get them hooked

I still don't understand why he has left the dark place to go to Villa. I'm a mag for my sins, but this is a bad move for Bent IMO. Sunderland are a far more stable club these days. They certainly will be more likely to achieve European footy this season. Very strange decision.........
#17
Suppose Villa have to recoup their money somehow, so why not advertise on here...
#18
Good price, hope DB doesn't stub his toe......
#19
Sorry hit expire by mistake and don't know how to undo

COME ON VILLA !!! lets get moving up the table now !

We usually buy big black strikers who are coming to the end of their career.
Look for example at Cyril Regis, John Fashanu, Dion Dublin, Emile Heskey etc etc
Sorry Mr Bent, your career is likely over now.

I've read the same comment so many time today and it is starting to irk me. We have finished 6th in the last three seasons. I don't know where Sunderland finished and I don't want to disrespect them, but they certainly didn't finish above us.
We have mostly the same players as last season apart from Milner, who decided to move on. But we had the major hassle of having to find a new manager, because ours decided to quit three days before our first match. This and an unimaginable amount of injuries to our senior players has left us struggling at the wrong end of the table.
Our brilliant owner has backed the new manager with an amount of money that would leave some massive clubs feeling a tad jealous in this economic climate, and yet we are a club in decline.
Hot deal by the way and really looking forward to the game

Wish I could go... :(

hes only 26!

Well done for getting benty.
Hes been poor for us lately but will certainly help keep you lot up.
To be honest you would have stayed up anyway..cant believe where you are in league as you deserved to win at our place.
Best wishes to you and darren and heat added !

he will score goals, just dont listen to the bullsh1t coming from his mouth.

Man City will win this game, ive been at Safc v Avfc both games this season, and the problem isnt just scoring goals, Villa defence isnt a patch on what it has been last few years.

No best wishes Darren from me, call it sour grapes if you want, i just dont like liars.
#29
UTV! :)
#30
if he was worth that sort of money don't you think one of the big boys would have picked him up ...what a retirement plan...
#31
Seems strange how GH is allowed to spend this kind of money but MON wasnt, i think if he had been backed then Villa would be alot better off. Thats just IMHO mind , dont know the internal politics of Villa.

100% agree. DB conned every fan into believing that his loyalty was with SAFC and how's much he had really settled within the Club and fans.... then he does that.

Gutted.

Van der Vaart bought for £8million

Bent bought for £18million, possibly rising to £24million

Therefore, Bent must be possibly 3 times as good as Van der Vaart!!!!!

Strange times!!

(Heat added for the deal though OP)

Erm a certain Gareth barry among others and the brilliance of Martin O'Neill might have had something to do with Villa finishing 6th for 3 seasons! £18-24m for Darren Bent is a joke, especially for what is essentially 3 1/2 years of service (if he stays that long!). He's a pathetic excuse of a player who needs a manager to constantly re-assure him that he's not crap and who will leave villa the second he receives an offer of more money elsewhere.

Im neither a Sunderland or Villa supporter but I hope he breaks his leg in his first game for villa (and just £15 a ticket to watch him do it seems like good value!)

Shame it's a 5.30 kick off. Had it been 3pm I might have fancied this but the match will end too late for my train home. You have to say though that Villa really must be struggling if they can't sell out their ground for one of their most attractive matches of the season - perhaps they should have offers like this more often?
