Very niche thing here, but hopefully helpful to one other person on the forum. For all the people that went to the Vienna game with the promise of a free ticket to the Europe League group stages, Villa are now offering free tickets to one of five premier league games - providing you still have the ticket.

Aston Villa Season Card holders who attended the Rapid Vienna game at Villa Park will be entitled to attend the Cardiff City Carling Cup game on a complimentary basis.

The game will be played on Wednesday September 23 (ko 7.45pm). Match tickets will be sent out on Tuesday September 8.

Season card holders who purchased the game and sit in the North Stand Upper should contact us to choose alternative seating as Cardiff City have exercised their right to a larger ticket allocation.

Non-season card holders who attended the Vienna game at Villa Park will be entitled to a complimentary ticket for one of the following Barclays Premier League home games in the 2009-10 season.

Portsmouth - September 19, 2009
Bolton Wanderers- November 7, 2009*
Hull City - December 5, 2009*
Burnley - February 20, 2010*
Sunderland - March 6, 2010*

*Fixture subject to change.

Ooh behave :p

Anyway, back on topic.....

How much are the cheapest tickets for the Rapid Vienna game OP?
#10
Well done Rapid Vienna for throwing a spanner in the works for the cocky Premier League gits. How dare Rapid not roll over and die at the hands of another pro english referee.

was the cheapest?? The game was played and we lost:-(

At least its showing that some clubs are looking out for their fans. I remember the days when clubs would have use to say 'tough s*!t' so to see clubs thinking about us for a change is good from me. Lets hope more clubs follow suit.
H&R added.
#13
Whilst some would argue that they're looking out for the fans, others would argue that they're trying to fill an otherwise empty stadium in the hope of increasing the overall match day revenue.

The reason Utd, Liverpool etc.. don't give tickets away is because 9 times out of 10 they sell out.

Utd do offer discounted tickets in the FA Cup and League cup but the opposition has to agree to the discounted rates. Greedy teams who have said no over the years include Wolves, QPR & Coventry.

Good point tappy ... just my opinion. It's just nice to see it and even better if more clubs did it more often.

We could do with giving away free tickets for sunday, because it definately won't be a full house @ £48 a ticket.

It's gone down. Last time we played you it was £55.00 :). All the best for Sunday, hope Phillips dosen't play. If I was a betting man I'd put money on both Heskey & Phillips scoring.:w00t:

Yet you can bet your bottom dollar that if Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Villa or any other premiership club had gone abroad and vandalised a city to the extent the Rangers fans did the whole premiership would be banned from Europe. Disgraceful it was.

I like the look of your Christian Benitez, he looks a player

Tim Vickrey seems to rate him highly

To be fair yes he does look quite tidy. Hasn't played enough yet to get a real opinion of him but everytime he has come off the bench, he has caused problems.

Time will tell, as long as he scores the winner on sunday i will love him forever ;-)

Both good signings imho. Delph looks a real prospect and Beye will be a useful back up to Luke Young when he is back.

Hot deal

hardly the signings that will make Villa into a top four team though, and I thought thats what Villa were aiming for, rather than consolidating 6th place

I dont think many huns will have a Scotlands Shame picture.

That said I'm guessing he's fairly young, as Celtic fans are still quite bitter about the last time we played Rapid Vienna. The keeper went down pretending to be hit by a bottle from the crowd.

Villa will suffer for a while as they get used to life without Barry. They got good money for him but I'm not convinced they've spent it wisely (although Dunne is good).

I think they'd settle for 8th.

Back to the offer, at least they have offered something even if it is the five least glamorous sides in the division where sell outs were always unlikely.

id to read this about 3 times to get my head round it.

Villa Vs Vienna free tickets.

The fact that vienna already knocked them out and have played them twice made me think this deal was a month old :whistling:
#30
This transfer window was all about quantiity, it would be difficult to sign the amount of players required of an excellent standard with our budget. Think we'll be in and around 5th. Villa and Tottenham. Don't see all the hype about City, three unconvincing wins against three of the worst sides in the prem.
#31
good offer from the club to the fans well done the villlllaaaaahhhhhhhh
