I was asked to check this out by my dad who was thinking about upgrading his 4 year old computer, and from what i can see, it makes for a really good computer. Im thinking of getting one myself. It sould have been £229.99 so this makes for 26% off an already good deal. Dont forget Quidco - making it £161.

You could even stick 4GB of ram in for found here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/301285/pny-pc6400-4gb-2x2gb-800mhz-ddr2-24/

Gaming for 2 years ago....

Have just been doing some searches on Google, and from what I can tell you should be able to buy the parts that make up this bundle for less if you buy them separately...

HTH,

It's more than capable of playing the latest games

Depends what you want it for, 8500 is an awful card, the ath 64x2 is very outdated now, and the 5000 is 3 chips behind the fastest in the range (which is still slow by intel C2D standards)
You'd be better off with a cheap Intel Motherboard and the new cheapy intel E7200 C2D Cpu at £70 (which would be faster and cheaper to run)

I would like to see from where?

I done some searches yesterday (novatech, ebuyer, scan and the likes) and couldn't find anything less than £230 for the lot.

Same spec few different parts. Lets face it for the new builder, its not a bad little deal. At least they haven't got umm and arr about incompatibility issues, and lack of knowledge.

And you forgot alone in the dark

Roughly £5-10 more.

Asus motherboard M3N78-AM(S021952)£44.50
Zotac Geforce 8500GT 1GB PCI-E Video Graphics Card(VIDZOT85TK2PFSR)£42.83
AMD CPU AM2 5000 Dual Core Athlon 64 Socket AM2 940 PINRetail box inc fan(3yr Manufacturers Warranty)(CPUAM2D5000)£37.99

But seriously, better off getting a Motherboard without onboard vga, and spend say £60 on a 256MB 8800GT. It would be much faster for playing games....

As others have said that is a truly awful card if your thinking of gaming with it.

A good list of Graphics cards, in order of power.
Note the 8500GT is on par with cards released years ago. (like the 9800, or GO 7600)

Agree about better having C2D for gaming or rendering but for general PC use it will be fine. Speaking as an ex PC gamer, xbox 360 every time nowadays

No, just selected the items form the superdeal section, apart from the motherboard. Also made sure i included VAT.

I agree that if you want to do a bit of gaming, dont go for a 9500gt. Was just using that card as an example against the 8500gt. You would be better getting something like an 8800gt / 8800gts(2nd gen) / 9800gt / ATI 4600 Series. 8800gt can be had for about £70. (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=25865&source=googleps).

Will make a big improvement in games. I have not been up to date with the gaming side for a while though so there maybe better alternatives for you. I am sure someone on here will give you more up to date advice.
