Excellent. Thanks. Heat added

Great wee runaround laptop and pretty well built too considering the size and price. Ohh, and you can get XP installed on these instead of the watered down Linux it uses. Dont ask how - I just know you can :P

The Linux distrbution on the EEE, Xandros, isn't watered-down at all. You may think the default user interface is a bit limited. but it is easy to enable the 'full mode' - for example, see: http://hansengel.wordpress.com/2007/12/25/activating-full-mode-on-the-asus-eee-pc/

But if you're more used to using Winows, you can install an optimised version of XP:

I can confirm that egg and quidco are both usable, both have tracked when i bought a tomtom one for my uncle (in fact used a £1 voucher to get it to £104 before furthur discounts!). This was about 2 weeks ago, and quidco not paid yet but egg card went on straight away.
#7
How can you use both egg & quidco? As you have to access the store through one of the websites.

What's the Marshall Ward deal?

These also bring the 20GB down to 308.45 !
Thansk OP!

PC World have reduced the 4GB to £219 (I got it down to £209 by taking out the monthy protection which I'm going to cancel today :-D)

My local in Slough only had 1 blue in stock (well, not any more :whistling:) but a few pinks still in stock, but no other colours.

Deals will probably become more frequent as they're getting the 900 in in a few weeks!

This is a good deal.

Remember that most/all of DSG's EEE PCs are currently fitted with the smaller 4400mAh battery, rather than the 5200mAh (E701) and 5800mAh for the 9" version. The larger batteries are in very short supply due to a fire in the battery factory, and it seems that Dixons Group have received a very large batch of EEE PCs with the smaller batteries - hence the reason that they have loads of stock !

The smaller 4400mAh battery was originally intended for the 2G EEE PC 'surf' models, and this will reduce your battery life by about 20-30 minutes. But on the plus side, it could make your EEE PC even lighter ;-)

The 7" 4G models are readily available from airport Dixons for GBP 212?, but check first that you've got the UK power supply !

It certainly is.
Used abroad twice this year and it was way better than my £800 Samsung 12.1". I even take it to work with me daily and use on my breaks.

Compact and VERY lightweight and does all I need.

Do you get on the net abroad for free ???
or do you connect via your mobile?

I'm confused now :?
#19
Many hotels and cafes have free Wi-Fi abroad .
#20

Is this powerful enough to run something like Photoshop? (running on XP of course). In addition to all the usual things, like surfing, I'd like to run it as a photo viewer/storage device (along with an external HD) with the ability to edit 1 or 2 of the photos if needed.
#24
Please would anyone who has actually bought one of these coloured ones confirm that they do have the web-cam? When I looked a couple of months ago, it was only the 701 4G black or white that had the camera.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, you may find this link of use when looking for your Eee http://eeestock.cpjackson.co.uk/

The link is not owned by me and I have no connection.
