If you're going to claim it's cheaper elsewhere at least post links to an identical model .

You posted a link to the inferior 900.

well from that mess, theres a chance you may get a eee 900 rather than the eee 901

detailed specs are showing its a 900

Doubt it, both companies seem to share the same inventory just at different prices.

Both are selling three EEE 900s (all 16gb), both have identical product codes on all models.

I just picked one up from the PCWB clearance section this week for £209! Haven't received it yet, so I hope it's not knackered.

If this turns out to be the 901, then it's quite a reasonable price.

Sadly, it was a one-off. The PCWB site is pretty good for getting cheap second-hand/shop soiled stuff.

I also picked up a Lacie 500GB external HDD for £35 after quidco on the same day.

The deals never last for long there, but it's definitely worthwhile checking every day or so, especially at this time of year since all the stores are having a big clearout in the run-up to Christmas.

Which reminds me, I picked up a 7" philips digital photoframe in-store on Saturday. It didn't come with a box or even a power-pack and some of the perspex surround was a bit scuffed, but it was reduced to £5, apparently from £30, but when I checked online all the prices were around £90, since it's not your usual 480x234 screen, but a decent 800x480 one.

Worked a treat using my PSP power-pack as well and it means I can have family photos at my desk for cheap!

abomination

Sorry my last post was not up to your expectation, but the Viking one has a larger HDD at 16GB, but does only come with Linux.

Anyway what about the Medion 10.2" notebook with 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and Win XP for £299.99 from Morrisons

The Viking model is an EEE 900 which is a completely different beast, slow SSD.. inferior battery life and capacity, no bluetooth or draft 802.11n, entirely different CPU... you get the idea. There is no comparison.

The Medion you've mentioned is a MSI Wind clone if I remember correctly, similar to the Advent 4211 which is a better comparison against the EEE 901. However as others will point out neither comes close to the battery life that this offers (yet). Also you must pick between 802.11n or Bluetooth as neither clone has both.

A lot of it is down to preference (kb/screen).

A nice deal if it is the 901.

Yeah was just waiting on confirmation that it's the 901 (someone purchased one a few days ago) before updating the thread.

Laskys have refunded me the difference of £6.00

Back in stock this morning.

Laskys don't seem to be affiliated with Quidco anymore, can still get 3% cashback with the likes of topcashback.
