Excerlent unit, well recomended. keyboard is bigger & more usable than the 700/900 series.

Agree with you there completely - could it be a national deal?

Cheers, Scotty Boy! :thumbsup:

so I guess this offer is really more luck because the store has to have it in stock.
I looked on the website and they don't even have it out of stock?

Do you think PC World is bringing along the next generation?

went to Reading PCW yesterday looking for the N800/N810 deals (of which there were none) but they had 3 shelves of boxes of EEEPCs, 700 900 and 1000 (not the H they were 1000 linux 40gb SSD only) starting from £114 for a 4gb 700

Thanks for that - dependent on how I'm feeling by the weekend (off sick) I'll have to nip in past the local to see what they have available.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

When will we see the next Eee PC?
We will provide more exciting products next year and the price range will be from $250 to $700. We will announce a model in Q1 and in Q2 of 2009. They are exciting and in my definition they are cool and the industrial design is stylish. We work hard to incorporate five sense innovation. We also want to make sure the innovation has low temperatures and long battery life. We want the user to experience fast boot up times, quiet performance, a very long battery life and low temperatures.

So humm i guess that's why they have reduces the prices.
If you check dixons, currys, comet they don't have any online stock so i guess we can expect the new Eee PC's soon.

I would hate to buy this one and 2 week afterwards see the new one launched for only about 60-70 quid more.

The catch would be what would you be getting! :whistling: I would go for it, as the 1000 series is a very good laptop and has a good reputation as well.

Hum..well I got to reading and it seams that there will be two new models:

ASUS Eee PC T91 and T101H touch-screen tablet

8.9-inch and 10-inch screen sizes and Atom processors, also the two machines offer up full-on swivel tablet functionality. An optional feature is a TV turner which might come in handy.

hummmm looking at these features I think the 10 inch version won't be priced lower than £450 so yeah this is a good deal after all :thumbsup:

wow ...if this is it, it's worth waiting then...

this one will have a DVD

* CPU: 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280
* Display: 10.2 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels
* RAM: 1GB
* HDD: 160GB
* Connectivity: 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth
* Expansion: 3 USB ports, 1 VGA port
* Dimensions: 10.4″ x 7.1″ x 1″

The Intel Atom N280 features a 1.66GHz clock speed, compared to the 1.6GHz speed of the N270. And the N280 has a 667MHz bus, compared with the 533MHz bus on the N270.

The N280 also features the new GN40 chipset which will offer better graphics performance, particularly with HD video playback.

The Asus Eee PC 1004DN looks an awful lot like the Eee PC 1002HA, except it has the new chiclet style keyboard and a disc drive that will read and burn DVDs and CDs.

Don't be suckered into these new models - they simply have the same features as a £450 laptop - you're just ending up paying the same for a 10" screen.

It appears the concept of £250 XP netbooks with decent features has been abandoned!

Finding a current 1000H with XP and 160GB for under £300 is proving more and more difficult .
