It's about the same price here:

http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/ASUS_EeePc_1005HA_SeaShell_in_Black_1005HA-BLK068X/version.asp

But there's a £9 delivery charge! (unless you buy an accessory at the same time)

EDIT: having done a quick Google, several places are doing this for £309 +delivery BUT most are waiting for stock!

The 1000H is an older model. It was the first 10" screen netbook by Asus and the 1005HA is one of the latest. You just need to weigh up whether its worth the extra £60 for:
- a lighter thinner model (2.8 pounds vs 3.2 pounds)
- a marginally better processor
- running approximately twice as long off the battery
- an arguably better keyboard with a logically placed shift key (I am always hitting the up-arrow on my older EEE PC)

I decided to buy the 1005HA for pretty much all of the above. It just depends on what you want and how you will use it.

The PC World deal is for the cheaper 1005HA, they both have six cell batteries but the cheaper model's unit has a lower rating. Hence, the difference in the battery running time.

Wow....this answered all my questions, thanks for that...by the way did you go for any of these newer models, I think the amazon deal Atom 280 with longer battery is the one I want to go for. But I'm considering Samsung N110 as well, do you know how that one stacks up against this model ?

I went for this deal and am very impressed with the N280 version of the 1005HA. I'm not a netbook guru but I did go through the same comparisons as yourself before the purchase. The N110 is a great machine but it has the N270 processor. There's more to the N280 than it being just 0.06GHz faster, it also has 667MHz front-side bus (as opposed to the N270's 533MHz) so it will use that extra bandwidth for memory based or graphical operations. My preferences were:

1. 1005HA
2. Cutprice NC10
3. 1008HA

I did consider a cutprice 1000HE (couldn't really find one to make it worthwhile though) but the N110 didn't come into it. There wasn't enough to differentiate the N110 from the discounted NC10 (£269.99 from PC World) and the price was difference was too great. The cheap PC World price is gone now, so I'm not sure how it stacks up now.
