I didn't like the quality. There are always netbooks roundabout this price & you can get better makes cheaper. You can also get a emachine made by acer for £179.99 + 15% quidco.cold

I thought Asus were one of the most reliable Netbook / laptop brands out there.

I've had 2 Asus netbooks (and still use 1, other went to the wife) and never a problem. I've owned 3 Acer laptops (which were cheap) and all were returned due to system crashes or blue screen of death.

Just my 2c.

Asus Eee Netbooks are a great piece of kit, I had an early version now my daughter takes everywhere, it has travelled round the world and not let her down and she knows how to test kit to the limit, lol.

asus good make, had my eeepc for 3 years now, no problems.
this model is only 3 cell battery though so would avoid. you wont get 6 hours, more like 3.

Agreed- I have bought 5 eee pcs over last 2 years for family members and have had no problems. IMHO this is an excellent buy especially as it it has W7- I suspect this is first eee deal with W7 for under 200 quid.

It's only Win 7 Starter, a seriously crippled version of the full OS.

There has been LOTS of netbooks about recently for under £200. Hp, Acer, emachines, tosh,Pac Bell etc - and even this one so not really a good deal if they always available at this price. Just posting what appears on Ebay DOTD isn't really finding a deal as everyone looks at it anyway. I bought the £179 emachine because I needed something cheap & chearful for my young daughter & I already have 3 acer laps. If I need something better I would have went for the Sony vaio refurb at £232

Forgot to say I am due £26.80 cashback which means the emachine is costing £153.19

What the asus ? This is through Ebay so the quidco would only be a % of their commission - about £4-£5 on a deal like this, I don't think you can use the walkers on ebay (but I might be wrong)

I've got this netbook and it is really good.

Ubuntu works brilliantly too, and I believe android x86 should install too - no need to stick with windows

Didn't Asus make laptops for Apple?

Good make!

Asus make very high quality products, hot.

I'm waiting for 2gb+Ion chip for this price..

Voted Hot.

I have a Asus 1005ha and it cost me over £230 - same specs as this one

Word of warning though, it will struggle to play back certain types of video from flash based sites when running in battery mode - seems ok when it's plugged in though.

I'd still recommend one, good deal.

Wrong. Just because you had a poor experience with a particular model does not mean that the entire manufacturer sucks. This machine is very good.

Shut the hell up.

If you want to post something, post something useful like the reason WHY.

I'm just asking - would the quidco not have to go through ebay. Any item I have bought ie argos laptop on ebay, the quidco was tracked on Ebay (which is less as it is on their comm as opposed to the full amount). is there a way roundabout this ? cheers

I hear what you are saying but I still wouldn't pay MORE to buy this brand, I'd rather pay a tenner less for others. I also do not think its worth almost £50 more than the acer. oO

common this is a quality machine - have used the same machine with xp running on it and its really nice stylish machine - great keyboard too.
its spec is getting a tad old now but still good overall machine for this price.
however confused to the battery spec as usually this model had a good 4cell batt. that gives 5hours
ASUS are a great brand and I for one would pay extra - you pays yurrr monies and takes your choice i guess...

Both of these are Zaavi through ebay & are the same price, but if you go onto zaavi's site the tosh is £30 dearer. So there you go better spec & better deal :p

that version of the ToshNB205 looks a tad bland and i doubt you'd notice any diff in overall performance - 1gb on win 7 and all that....
