This isn't exactly a new model, been out a few months (the new ones have Windows 7 starter). If you're after an 11.6" netbook with higher res screen you may as well get a Compaq Mini 311c for only £40 more. Benefits: Nvidia Ion DirectX 10 graphics (can handle 1080p HD and output via HDMI, with new version of flash can play youtube videos - also much better gaming capabilities can play Unreal Tournament 3, Call of Duty 4). Also has a faster 1.6ghz N270 atom processor.

Without internal 3g £296.10 http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/503785/hp-compaq-mini-311c-11-6-ion-netboo
With internal 3g £323.10 http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/514349/compaq-hp-mini-311c-11-6-netbook-nv?

But if you're already spending £256 an extra £40 to make the machine do something you might want it to is hardly here nor there. If budget is the only thing that matters there's cheaper around  (without the 11.6" higher res screen though)

All very true but I just had to chuck in my tuppence worth, as members have asked about netbooks with larger screens (more then the 10" models)...sorry, me bad!

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Trusted Reviews say

If the 1.6GHz Intel Atom processors were pushing the boundaries of acceptable performance, the 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 in the 1101HA laughs in your face and shouts "I can go slower".

Almost garbage in comparison to ION.

At the £250 level expect loads of add-ons because its it quite useless without ION.
£200 fine but £250+ expect ION.

Nice screen but overpriced, ION hides the Atoms flaws.

Whats ION then?

A graphics processor,

Plays most video to with the ION.

Nvidia Ion is basically the Nvidia 9400m graphics used on the recent macbooks, so it's quite good. Detailed info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_Ion

The Atom processor is still relatively slow and sluggish compared to modern dual cores though so some games that rely on the CPU do struggle. The Ion helps a great deal but isn't a magic wand :)
