no webcam..
also (i'm complaining at play mostly) why put the cpu speed in the title if its wrong - i'm pretty sure all these run at 630 unless you overclock it yourself.
may need to remove unionfs to have enough useable space on a 2GB SSD. in which case you lose the restore to factory option.

these machines are plenty fast enough for what they're intended for (upgrade to Firefox3 or use Opera)

good deal (not great, about right, from £220 to £150 in 1 year) but I don't really need another one.

actually you need to budget another £40 for a big battery to make this useable, so i would say its £40 overpriced.

Too expensive for such a limited machine. Would have been a good price a couple of months ago. But price just not realistic now. Refurbs at £100, Aspire Ones on clearance at. £150.

I can't think that many would want to spend so much for so little, but there may be some.

IF you want to purchase the 7" screen series of the ASUS EEE PC you can purchase the 701/SD model from Carphone Warehouse - it comes with an 8GB PCIe SSD (removable) and Windows XP Home Edition as the operating system.

There's a deal thread on this website about it.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

I seen a refurbed offer on here a few weeks ago but the deal expired quickly. Have you seen this price elsewhere?

No, but now they have started I would expect more to follow. The big push is with the 10" Netbooks so I would expect to see more good offers on the 7" and 8.9" models.

Went in Currys.digital in St Albans today and they had the Asus 2GB for £99.97 in the clearance with a further 10% off the price making it just over £90 for a new netbook. They also had the 120GB Linux Acer Aspire One for £179.97 with a further 10% off. These are display in front window of the store so hopefully someone might be able to get one before they go.

That's not bad - at least if anything goes wrong with it you have a store to go into.

Thanks for letting us know about the deal on the Acer Aspire One - you thinking about posting it as a deal on HotUKDeals?

I wasn't planning on posting it as a deal as generally the DSG clearance offers can be a wild goose chase and can't guarantee that these offers are nationwide.
