ASUS have created the brand new Eee PC 701 4GB for total mobile internet computing. This half-UMPC, half-laptop hybrid has to be the best mobile internet revolutionary experience you will get.

Eee stands for Easy to learn, work and play, Excellent Internet experience and Excellent mobile computing experience. Bumps and shocks are no longer issues. With a dependable 4GB solid-state disk, you get unparalleled shock-protection and reliability.

Using a Linux-variant operating system requires only 15 seconds to boot. Microsoft die-hards should note that Windows documents are compatible with the ASUS Eee PC 4GB . The Eee PC includes the documents and the e-mails software, and a suite of other productivity software to help keep you on track. It'll ship with Open Office, Firefox and Skype, but you can install any number of other open-source applications.

Other interesting specifications of the ASUS Eee PC 701 4GB include, Ethernet, camera and three USB ports. Additional storage space can be added by inserting a Secure Digital (SD) card

These were £100 on expansys a bit ago. Not anymore, but even so £159.99 seems a lot.

The price is good but really would be worthwhile paying the extra £40 or so for a Eee 900a. Bigger higher-res screen, larger (but slower) SSD and more ram.

I've got a 701 and love it but would happily swap for a 900a.

They cant be that good can they?!
School was even offering the parent finance deals! £5 a week/month to get them to buy..

seemed a bit desperate and since you cant upgrade them didnt seem worthwhile so a lot of the parents didnt buy.. if theyre THAT good then tempted to get some to fleabay! lol
