Cold for me, Asus Aspire one at £150 I thinks a lot better deal, maybe only 512mb of ram, but only £10 to upgrade to 1.5GB and comes with 120GB hard drive (although most ship with 160 fitted). Also Asus uses Atom CPU.

Hot from me.

The shock proof ability of the SSD and the corresponding reduction in weight makes this more desirable to me than a bigger hard drive.

120gb internal is unnecessary in a netbook for me.

I believe that the jury's out on the performance of the early atom's Vs. the 900mhz of the Celeron.

I paid nearly £300 for my 900 when it first came out. £189.99 is a great price.

I wouldn't touch an Acer Aspire One with a barge pole - if you want to upgrade the RAM you have to take it apart completely and void your warranty in the process - read the forums, there are many reports of people bricking their machines after striping them down to upgrade the RAM - thanks Acer :x
On the Other hand you can upgrade the Asus to 2GB RAM in 5 minute via the removal of one access pannel and as it's a user upgradeable part you don't void the warranty.

Also anyone who says that 2GB doesn't make any difference on these machines is deluding themselves - it certainly speeds things up and allows you to run more applications in parallel especially compared to a 512MB model

Should you vote it cold, if its cold for you because you prefer a different product?

Yes, because everybody has a different perception of what a 'deal' is.:)

I'd want to see 6 cell battery for this machine at that price. Am i right in thinking that the keyboard is bigger/better on the Acer?

A number of tests have seen the 900mhz celeron outperform the N270 Atom.
