A quick search at ebuyer.com has shown that they are now stocking 2 of the 'atom' based EEE PC's

NB: They also have the 80GB HDD (non-SSD) model in stock for £336.62:
EEEPC1000H-BK007X 10IN Intel Atom 1GB 80GB Webcam Windows XP
URL: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146026

No sign of the Linux Atom's, yet.

Ps: My first 'deal'.
Pps: Let's try to leave discussion as to whether you'd be better off with a 'proper' laptop out of it. I'm posting this, as someone may be looking to buy one. I know I'm waiting for the Linux-based 901's to appear myself.

edit: now down to £307.70

Can't see the point in these myself. Better off with a proper laptop :giggle:

I have one of the old EEEPc`s, and i`m replacing it with the offering from PC World. £280 delivered and better specs - it is branded Advent but is the MSI Wind in reality.

Voted hot because it`s a good machine, but there are better out there now for less money.

agree the msi from pcworld is a better offering. Have a 701 eeepc may have to upgrade.

Indeed it is!
But, Amazon have no stock. Ebuyer do.
Those people that want it now!now!now! might not mind paying the extra. 15(ish)quid.

Might pre-order my Linux 901 now from Amazon! I don't mind waiting! ;-)

I posted a comment on the ebuyer forum for the 12GB WinXP to say it was cheaper at Amazon....
Needless to say, ebuyer have dropped the price!!

Now £307.70inc vat (free delivery on super saver) - 36 left in stock (as I write).

There is talk in the States of Asus offering $100 off of the 900-models (non-Atoms - Celeron based) to help clear stock. Be aware - may filter down into UK market.

That should mean approx £50 + vat + more tax but seeing as it's a discount then the chances of being that high are getting on close to zero :-D

I'm posting from the Advent 4211 (MSI WIND) and have to say, what a great machine BUT I need more battery life. Might return this and purchase a 901. :?

No way will I pay more than £300 for one though. Just not worth it. :x

The 900 has already been reduced in the UK, although some retailers like ebuyer continue to rip people off.

You can pick up any variant of the 900 for £250 now easily.. (perhaps slightly less in the near future, I've seen at least one retailer hint at the £235 mark) I'm on holiday now with my 900 bought last week.. the 901 wasn't available nor did I want to buy the Advent as it had no track record. I'm not disappointed as the 901 isn't as cheap as it should be so I haven't lost out.
