that netbook is pretty old and all these Aspire one deals makes this one not so good.

I think the point that is being made is that there is better kit out their. The Aspires are much better the the 901's and are frequently found for £80 less. Ok the 901 has a better battery and comes with XP but has a lot less storage - 12Gb v 120Gb. I also happen to think the Aspires build quality is better the the 901's. I think Tescos are doing a Lenovo with XP for £199 so is better value then this. At the end of the day its about personal preferences but I think this ones going to be a bit chilly.

i wouldnt buy from those sites they look dodgy.

what i meant but the nc10 is if you are spending £230 you could easily get a used nc10 for the same price or a new one for £50 more.

the acer aspire one is £80 cheaper and a much better netbook.

i can go on about what a bad deal this is but you probably already know this by looking at the temp.

stay clear of the goodsinbox site, just take a look at where it's registered - http://www.domaincheck.co.uk/search_results.htm?full_domain=goodsinbox.com&submit=Check

Would you buy from a Chinese (no offence to the Chinese) firm you've never dealt with with only an email address as a contact. And if legit how much duty will you have to pay.

I only checked the goodsinbox one - and would not buy from there.

Here are the reasons....

1. The English is sufficiently poor in places, to not be from a native speaker.

2. It seems to be an off the shelf website, that they have added prices to - but not filled in all the required details. The site still has a page listing...

This store is for demo purpose only. No order will be proceed.

http://www.goodsinbox.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=3

3. There is no UK contact telephone number listed, or any number even.

4. There is no contact address listed - so it could be anywhere.

5 Given the two above if you sent money to them and nothing arrived - who would you shout at?

6. The site is registered in China.

7. The domain was only registered two weeks ago.

Domain Name:goodsinbox.com
Record last updated at 2009-06-15 23:01:38
Record created on 2009/6/15
Record expired on 2010/6/15

8. Strangely for a business appearing to carry many thousands of items they only had the money to register their domain for a year. So could it be even they don't expect it to be there next year?

9. The prices are lower than anyone else, and they fail to say if they would be sent from the UK, or if tax would be due. But why bother if there is no need to really offer customer services.

10. Searching on the telephone number used in registering the site "+86.0106443599" - returns many scam warnings, and registrations of other similarly named sites. Here is one from another forum where I am a member, and so obviously value its content...

So will anyone buy from there now?

Heat and rep from me. This is a good price for the 901 XP - and yes it has a smaller harddrive but it's a solid-state one which some people prefer. All other specs are competitive with newer models so I don't see that when it was released is relevant.

wasnt this £149 the other day at ebuyer

It has definitely been £180 in the past so this isn't a great price.

Actually this is around the same age, however as the hardware hasn't advanced so what?

6 hours battery life, solid state drive, proper 9" screen and chassis, matt screen, fairly light weight, pretty good speakers. This offers a lot more than most netbooks and if this had been a decent price for the machine it would have been a hot deal.
