I've been after one of these for ages and this is the cheapest price I've ever seen. Amazon seem to be really playing around with the prices on this - it changes daily - yesterday it was £279.99, up from £265 a couple of days ago.

I have never found this cheaper than £265 anywhere else. I know we all have our debates over which is the best network, but if you want this particular one, as I do, then this is the cheapest I've ever seen it.

Don't know how to add a pic, sorry.

By the way, every deal I'm rating today goes up as usual but when I refresh the page, it's returned to the old score and won't let me vote again! Any ideas?!

Nice deal, I saw this at PC World earlier at the same price, but it was collect at store only. By the time I've driven there and back this is £5 and 1 hour cheaper!
This is winning the race now for my daughter' present!

Heat and rep added :D

That was the 904 model. I hummed and hawed over buying it for quite a while before deciding against.

bought my dad the NC10 (Samsung) netbook and I'd recommend it - very solid little machine with a great keyboard...

the thing about the SSD in this one is... SSD's are great for portable shock-proofing, but this one is so small, you'd be just as well off sticking an SD card of a similar size into the SD slot on any other computer and using that as a backup drive... I have an SD card in my laptop all the time for backups.

SSD make no noise and are great now that I actually have one in my laptop

HP 2133 from ebuyer had a much nicer screen - 1280x800. 120G hdd - no SSD. I also have an original 800 eee pc. 800x600 screen. The bigger screen does make a BIG difference. HP priced at around £200 for linux version. Great with ubuntu running on it.
Anyway,
good price voted hot.

Of course they make no noise. This is useful so you don't have to carry earplugs any more. Unless you breathe, in which case you'll make as much noise as a typical HD does - so don't breathe and you'll be in heaven.
Apparently they don't smell of blueberries either.

This is a great price for the 901 EEE.

I have one, and it has its advantages and disadvantages.

+ve's - unbelievable battery life - I genuinely get over 5:30 hours with wifi on; 7:30 hours with wifi off.

+ bluetooth, wifi b/g/n, great screen, very small and light (some other makes are quite a bit bigger and heavier to accomodate a bigger keyboard and/or screen),

1 big -ve though. The SSD is actually 2 SSDs, one 8gb and one 4gb. Windows is on the smaller and faster 4gb one. You need to be prepared to do some regular windows housekeeping if you want to install all wiindows updates as they come out, as it is quite a push to keep it uner 4gb.

Have a look at this thread on an eee forum for more of an idea of the space issue on the c drive and how to handle it:

If you can cope with that, then this is a bargain as battery life, size, weight and build quality are all amazing.

I bought one of these when they first came out ... in black. Great little machine for travelling. My mate got a white one. Mine shows fingerprints worse than his on the glossy areas, but his shows more dirt on the keyboard.

Ok so my post was a little dodgy, but I've always thought SSD's were, atm at least, a bit **** - I have 4 HDD's in my PC and didn't really see what an SSD could do.

Got my eee (701 4G), and while the HDD is very very small, I love the lack of noise / vibration and I also love the fact it's so durable...

It's totally changed my mind, and I cannot wait 'till SSD's are cheaper - but it'll be ages!

Only wish I'd got the 901 rather than the 701, as it is a *little* too small.

Not related to the deal but where better to post the following info?

EEE 901 black XP 12gb returned unit, £223.34 (2-3 day delivery)

Only 1 so.... some good bargains to be had from time to time between Macwarehouse, Microwarehouse and PC World Business on clearance items, all the same outfit. :)

Seem to have stopped the deal now so have expired. Hope it helped someone!
