Well... Expansys do do silly things sometimes, for instance, I have an EEE 701 which I got from them, it's a US model, with a US keyboard and US PSU... nice of them to mention the fact in the item description. Even nicer of them to ignore my emails about it.

i've got an ASUS laptop and I like it a lot. This one looks like a pretty good deal.
But I've also had problems dealing with Expansys in the past.

Hi. I concur this comment. I purchased this model from Staples and the battery is a 4 Cell and lasts just over 2 Hrs,but I paid £160.00 for it.I now see that it was not such a bargain, as when you look at the cost of upgrading the battery the end price is higher than a model with a higher capacity battery. It was fortunate that a 2hr+ usage time is ok for me.

no wireless is a deal breaker for me, I've been looking at the msi wind u230, going for around £299 and a 12.1" screen, £100 more but a great little machine.

It does have wireless, wireless 'g' but not 'n'

Of course this has wireless, i bet there is not a laptop made in the last 5 years that does not have wireless! You guys need to read up on your standards, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g.

Lol i was going to say it does have wireless as i have the lower spec model that has the lower cell battery its a nice little netbook and seems better quality than my Dell XPS laptop.

As has been said, this as wireless. The u230 isnt really a direct comparison. Its bigger and therefore a little less portable and has lesser battery life plus its £100 (50%) more.

Thanks. Have ordered thru quidco and used expansys10 (bought a lead for 42 p) to get it for £190.48

Am sure someone will give a better explanation but from memory from looking at different boxes in pc world many years ago wireless G works at the same speed but doesnt have a signal thats as strong as wireless N. For me in my house with the boxes all in one place the lower spec has never been an issue but I imagine with a netbook which is so portable a stronger signal when out and about is a bigger deal. Since our neighbours have all gone with wireless N my wireless search picks up about 15 different options to choose from. A few years back it was unusual to see more than a couple.

Asus 1000 series are all basically the same machine , with various batteries, win7 or win xp, 160gig or 250 gig hardrive. If you are paying £200ish be sure to get the 6 cell battery.
This will last about 7 hrs on the first charge! just purchased one this week at £199

This is 6 cell but only around 4000mah!

This is a PX which has the crap battery life as opposed to the P isnt it?

Can I just bump this to say that I received this yesterday and its absolutely fantastic! I am soooooooooooo pleased with it. So much better quality compared to ones at a similar price we looked at in Curry's/Comet. Lovely smooth keyboard and even though its smaller screen its just fine.

Totally recommend this to anyone who is considering buying it. The case is also mega smart.

Thanks OP!

(p.s my Quidco has tracked no probs as well - ordered a 50p cable so was able to use the £10 off voucher too :))

edit - for anyone only reading the OP - this netbook IS wireless and connected immediately to my wireless connection thingy!
