Why would you need 6x usb when there's no room for 1 hdmi.
Got excited thinking it was the ion enabled one, ah well good little home PC.
I think i have an older version of this. With the white trim? that one has hdmi on it. But do be warned it still cant handle playing a movie through usb onto a tv. Unwatchable.
That one too has a intel atom but i dont know the speed.
1GB is a no no too... 2GB minimum these days....
I remember testing a few of these in a shop, without Ion I'd forget about playing movies..
Acer Revo R3700 is all but the same price from ebuyer... Atom D525, 2GB RAM, ION2.
Wouldn't go anywhere near this if you hoping to use it as a HTPC. Cold from me. Recommend going for Acer Revo with ION (Not ION2), Zotac Z box or building your own AMD Zacate M1 Hudson system.
Not for me but hot for the price.

Anyone recommend a cheap Pc base with windows 7 just for basic usage, including browsing web, email, word etc...?
Hotukdeals rules states I should vote this hot because its cheaper than elsewhere, and not vote on based how good it is.

This is one of those cases where the rules need to be broken. Ice cold, awful value compared the the acer revos.

Big feckin whoop it has windows 7 premium, rest of the hardware way over priced and under powered.

Yup the machine to beat currently. Full HD output plus any other general use. Wouldn't even bother trying to self build at this price

With Windows Home Premium included this ASUS PC still hot buy though if you can put up with lack of decent video GPU as a cheap behind the monitor mail/surfing machine.
cold from me too I afraid. If you want a HTPC go with the one from ebuyer as mr velvet said :).

I have a few 3610s and they are great but how does the new 3700 compare with the eMachine here:
Don't care about the OS, got a 3-pc license for Win 7 but read that the athlon neo fares better than the atom but ion2 is better than the offering in the eMachine.

If anyone could shed some light on this, would be grateful :)

R3610 with XBMC FTW. You need the Ion chipset if you want HD media to play.
It is a neat system, but apart from Gigabit ethernet is has very little going for it. The revo is better in so many ways, that it turns this quite cold.

Crap processor, low ram
