And why are there so many 'used like new' - are they faulty and RTM'd?
Oh, and I wouldn't say it's sluggish. I don't think it's bad at all.
unless you want a 10" screen
or perhaps more that 8/16gb of media ?
Its not as fast as a nexus I'll give you that but many people will trade a few milliseconds on scrolling the screen for an more usable 10" screen.
You clearly don't know much about them.
"Since its release, the Prime has been saddled with reports of performance issues, bugs, and stuff just outright not working."

Have a google and its uncovers more issues particularly in relation to the ICS updates.
For example:-
Despite the TF101 being one of the first devices to get over the air (OTA) upgrades to Ice Cream Sandwich, the roll out has been plagued with problems. By our reckoning, this is Asus' fourth attempt to get the upgrade right. As long ago as March 6 we reported that the attempt to migrate the Transformer TF101 tablet to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) had brought various problems.
Asus had released the OTA upgrade in February, and at the time said it was working on a fix because of a number of different problems experienced by its users. Users were complaining about graphics problems, random reboots, crashing and battery issues.
At the time Asus said on Facebook, "Thank you to everyone who has given us feedback regarding the ICS TF101 update. We apologise for the issues some users have been experiencing and we'd like to assure you all that we are working on a fix. We don't have an exact date for release yet but we're aiming for early next week."
Less than a week later we noted that a firmware update by Asus still hasn’t fixed the issues brought to the Transformer TF101by its upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Initial feedback from the US release of this new version isn't good either with many saying the problems are still not fixed or have even got worse. However, a couple of users reported that the update did make the device more stable.
Don said: "Yup, I’m seeing random reboots now too. More than before." Ethan said: "Asus, please issue a recall for all tf101s! All these issues are just too much. persistent problems."
Asus told us: "We are always working on it."

It's seconds not milliseconds.
Yes there were problems with getting ICS onto the 101, but the links are to reports that are months old now. As far as I am aware this has long since been sorted out.
I have the tf300, which is a slightly specced down tf201 (e.g. no gorilla glass) but with a plastic case. And it is superb with no problems with running ICS quickly, and no problems with GPS or wifi. It has a faster processor than the tf101, but then it cost over £110 more than this price.
You clearly know even less. This isn't the Prime, it's the original Transformer.
Read, think, comment. Or stfu.

The only problem I have had with mine was flash stopped working with ICS. Uninstalled flash and web browsers. Re installed and everything is fine.
It does struggle with 720p but with 16gb built in and upto 32gb micro sd card I personally think putting standard def stuff on it will allow you to take more with you than hi def
Don't forget this was one of the best at the time when it came out!
