Got an email advertising this. I know its old technology now but for the price with XP operating system cant be bad for a netbook/MID. Better value than the CE netbook.
I know its not a replacement for a notebook, but the reviews dont seem too bad. Originally came out about 3 years ago with Linux operating system.

Also you can get £7 off the price by using the voucher codes that come with the email brochure - making it £122.99

Link seems to go to batteries....How the hell do I change that???

Done - for some reason the link doesnt work when posted

Maplin links always mess-up in the direct link.
I've used one of these and would advise it is for occasional use only - not for tasks requiring much typing. The keyboard is very poor and prone to having individual keys failing to register. You end up hitting each key too hard which then speeds up its demise. Ok for light surfing on holiday.
That seems rather pricey for a very old netbook. Bare in mind the hugely limited hard disk.

On the flip side, if you're a modder there's lot of potential for change - but I'd consider trying to get on off ebay for around 70
I have the 4g ssd version and have ubuntu on it.
It is 2y old and there are occasional hdd write errors reported now - so be aware that older ssds have a finite life.
It works fine and happily plays BBC iplayer at full (all 7ins) screen
I get around the small hdd with a 16g sd card.
I like it because it is a little small and slow and not easy to type on - otherwise i would spend even more time on the internet at home - also good for hols.
Hi, my girlfriend has the 4gb version, had it from release day, used it all through her degree to do all her work! (due to not having a main pc) it has never suffered from read or write errors and all her keys are still working perfectly.
The boot up time on the cut down windows xp i put on it is extremely fast (due to the SDD).

what i did to help the SSD is move all my documents and programs to a external SD card which fits into the laptop to give it more memory. When they first came out this was standard to give the laptop SSD a longer life.

The screen resolution is abit small for web browsing an the keys to take some time to get used to.

From my experience with the 4gb version the 900mhz processor is underclocked to 600mhz to save on battery. (not a clue if it is the same for the 8gb version) this can however be corrected wih software that a user made which is posted on the eeepc forums.

It is excellent for on the go! due to no moving parts you dont have to worry about anything breaking inside. obviously throwing it around too much will have an effect!
