And ToysRus, although showing out of stock on web site they had them in store the other day @ Altrincham (Broadheath) for £219.00.
#3
This is the black one and not the white.
#4
Again this is for the black version and not the white as shown at Toys'r'us

The one on eBuyer is the black one, and you'll be lucky if you can get a hold of one of these currently :D

My local PC World is showing out of stock, and thats like all 8 stores.

Well in that case i'd say it's certainly not a hot deal. An extra £20 for a different colour is looney tunes.

Must have been a good deal for some people as in the last 40 mins since posting all 10 laptops have gone at ebuyer.

That was the 2GB version, this is the 4GB one.

Definitely not hot. It's more expensive than elsewhere. Just because there's a stock problem doesn't mean it's a good deal.

Just been searching for the black version on Google and came across this at clove.co.uk for £219.72 inc vat

http://www.clove.co.uk/viewProduct.aspx?manufacturer=ASUS&item=ASUSEeePC7014GB(BLACK)&product=4884FC8A-8679-466A-9D78-83B1D4CDE3D7

Looks like the same one as the OP and at a price that is much more reasonable. There may be better deals out there for this machine, my 2 minutes google search may be the tip of the iceberg.

Edit: however, the description for that one may be misleading as it says 4gb but the site has another one listed for another £20 which also states 4gb :(

£222 delivered (if you have free delivery ) from Scan but on pre-order..black and 4GB...guess it depends on how keen you are...and black is HOT

Dabs now have the black one in stock for £218.99 and yes it is the 4GB version  delivery isn't free tho as I think promotion has ended (YIKES £7!)....with Quidco this almost matches the Scan price

http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=4SGM&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=asus+eee&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0

I've had my black one on pre-order since mid-December so there could be a fair few pre-orders...and I got mine with pre-Xmas voucher and free delivery (same price as 2GB version)

They also have the 2GB Surf version in white available...best to pay the £20 more IMO and get double the SSD size - def needed if you decide to install XP

Also Asus are rumoured to be unveiling a 8.9" screen version with 1020x600 res and WIMAX sometime soon...

Any more info on this? I'm waiting till a newer version comes out with a bigger screen and 8.9 inches should be enough :whistling:

We may know more from Monday after the WIMAX event - http://www.electronista.com/articles/07/12/31/asus.eee.pc.with.wimax.tip/

Many rumours are worming their way round the web....notice next-gen EEE (or premium) although it looks like it'll sell for anywhere between £250-£275 as a guestimate....the bigger screen may involve a re-design amd may come with a bigger SSD perhaps?

Many blogs have the news since turn of the new year - Google for more ;-)
