7 inch tab with 3g connectivity. For £99, hope it is worth. went very hot when it was £129..

Want a tablet but need a phone too? That's where the Asus Fonepad comes in. Not only is it a tablet with a large display, it's also a 3G phone. No need to change settings, flip switches or pull out an aerial. The Fonepad is simply a tablet and phone all bundled into one. You can make calls, text, send emails, get on the net, and everything else you can with a smartphone.

Yeah Carphonewarehouse do it as well for the same price
I keep seeing these and considering getting one, not for really using as a phone but for the 3G. For £99 to have 3G is pretty awesome. Might look at XDA-Developers to see what ROM development is like for this first, don't wanna be stuck on JellyBean forever.
Also has any one had any experience with the Alcatel 4G mentioned? From my experience in the past Alcatel made very second rate devices that felt cheap and didn't work great. Anyone got one of these?
Please guys, don't compare asus against alcatel, I've been building PCs for nearly 20 years and I'd go for asus motherboards, graphics card every single time whenever costumer/budget allows me to, Alcatel doesn't even varnish their circuit boards with anti corrosion/oxidation, It usually last last just about enough to go over their warranty, I know 4g at £99 is tempting for the naked eyes but let's be honest 4g lte technology it's not quite there yet in most places, if you need a phablet this asus is a steaming hot deal at 99.
Bought mine 18 months ago, very pleased with it, excellent value for money, and especially invaluable for travel.

But NB: no rear camera.

Crap unreliable tablet with battery issues.
Just google fonepad charging problem.
I bought one from John Lewis last year and returned it because of the dead battery charging problem.

rubbish, dont buy. had to return mine 3 times because of battery problems. took ages to charge and battery never lasted long. worse fonepad ive ever seen.
Can anyone recommend similar priced with rear camera ? thanks
The Fonepad is available on voice tariffs, so if you want occasional data, that opens up the Three PAYG321 - actually, at 1p/MB, that means you'd pay £10/GB - if you used a GB, £5 / 500MB - compares pretty well with most monthly data tariffs ... cheapest you can get a GB is £7.50 - whether you use it all or not!
As above, because it classes it's self as a phone, you can also get unlimited data plans, use tethering (sadly no longer unlimited tethering as no one offers it) and so on.

Mine was generally ok and the problems I had were of my own making - cracked screen etc.
