COLD , 3GB

they done a silly thing by not SLI the 6gb, mostly wasted by the time a good FPS and good graphical settings are reached but I would still prefer to spend a little more for the 6gb if it was the case. More vram is also good good for some testing even so the ideal would be a minimum of 16gb at least

16gb VRAM? You took your meds today? Yeah would be nice wouldn't it, the Titan X has 12gb lol. This is a budget card and it's still outclassed by the 970 bar TDP

This is if they did SLI 2x1060 at £400~440 would perform the close or probably even better that a 1080 which retails at over £600 if you want a decent one. Greedy Nvidia, though I'm just to blame as I finally relented and bought a 1070, but in hindsight since my monitors only do 1080p the smart thing would have been to buy an RX 480 and wait until AMD's next announcement. But oh well.

My advice is if you game at 1080p and you're looking to play new DX12 games like BF1 then get the AMD RX480 as it will give you solid framerates even at 1440p.

Might not because think about the gtx1070, it can beat anything in the market in sli and for less. Got 2x970 and can just do anything at 4k. I actually mostly use widescreen cinematic resolutions like 3860x1600 down to 3840X1440 or just anything (worth for larger screens and it is amazing) which helps a lot when I need not to try to get it at over the 4gb vram limit and get the best graphics look at the same time. Will wait for these new amd cards that should come soon and that hopefully should bring the price down of the gtx1080/1070 and see.

Don't get me wrong I really like my 1070 but with the Nvidia's greediness, lack of competition on the high end and Brexit it feels like we got shafted in terms of pricing. Had to relent and buy one in the end though as I build a new system with an i7 6800K and 32GB DDR4 and all I had to power it was a AMD 6950 from 5 years ago, which although was quite funny it wasn't practical trying to play anything recent.
If you can wait then do so until AMD announces their offerings which as you said will at least bring prices down.

Spend the extra £30 and get the 6GB version. Thank me later.

Still waiting patiently for the 6gb to go down to £200, or a 1070 to go to £325

With the exchange rate for the £ going downhill, you might have a long wait.

If you can find a 1070 around £360-370 with free Gears of War 4 you can buy that and sell the Gears game for £30-35 which should bring the price down a bit.
That's what I'm doing, waiting for eBuyer to send me the code now.

Yeah AMD have announced the VEGA, no official numbers but it WILL be HBM2 memory, and reports are 8gb or 16gb.

Either way this is what happens, AMD innovate, Nvidia slightly improve on it, thats the way its been im afraid!
