I have an 8800GTX card, (point of View, not Asus, but they are all the same apart from warranty and stickers!) and it is outstanding. I can play any game at 1920 x 1200 with all the eye candy turned on. It's also the cheapest you will be able to pick that card up for

This is a good price. The comparable BFG 8800GTX at OcUK is £397.14 inc VAT.

The 8800 series is the newest series and fully compliant with DirectX10, though most software will not be utilising this new hardware fully for another six months. By then cards like this should be cheaper, and there will be more of them fully supporting the new standard.

But one of these babies does pwn basically all gfx cards out there, and most SLI/Crossfire setups (it easily beats 7950GX2, and on par with two X1950s in Crossfire) and will basically eat up anything you throw at it, at any screen size. The only instance where it doesnt get the recommended 30fps minimum is in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, outside, on 2560x1600 screen size. At normal screensize for most people 1280x1024 it'll hit 30fps with full settings on every game currently on the market. Mind you, my X1900XT does too and I only got that for 170GBP, but it isnt DX10 compliant (which isnt really used ATM anyway). This card is ideal for bragging rights at any LAN :)
heres a review of the card just some more
thanks for welcome. link changed as review for this card is also on site.
Thanks guys for the extra info :) Welcome to HotUKDeals Steelsie, borandi and m600 too ;-)

Even Battlefield 2??? :?
Even Battlefield 2??? :?

BF2 is easy on the GPU, you can run it on max with a 7900gs/1950pro which cost about £120
How does it cope with Flight Sim X maxed out. I've heard this game won't run on most PCs at max settings?
This is a Beast of a gfx card. I wonder how it would make Battlefield 2142 look if I installed it on my pc.
