This seems to be AMD's latest card and it priced cheaper than the 5850! This has to be a misprice, cracking deal.

Release date is the 22nd October. Not bad at this price.

These cards are a replacement for the midrange HD 5770 cards, becausce the performance is much better than the last midrange cards they change the numbering scheme. HD 5770 = HD 6870. Hd 5870 = HD 6970. These cards perform around HD 5850/5870 level and will all be around £200 as direct competition to the GTX 460 1GB, basically destroying it.

Why expired, they have more stock on order?

Same price here : http://www.morecomputers.co.uk/extra.asp?pn=eah6870%2f2di2s%2f1gd5

Lambadatech have a bad habbit of listing stuff they don't have, often at very low prices, then not getting stock or changing the price when they do, hence no pre-oreder.

I would wait untill the more reputable suppliers start showing prices, and we get some benchmarks :)

We should also see some deals for the outgoing 5xxx range soon !!

Ok fair enough didn't know that about lambatech. Im thinking off picking up another HD 5770 for crossfire and skipping the 6 series, I imagine crossfire HD 5770 will last me up until the 7 series on 28nm. Reading benchmarks 2 x HD 5770 overclocked is as fast as the GTX 480!

That sounds like a good plan. I would wait untill the 6xxx range is released, as that will bring down the cost of the 5770's :)
