ASUS X556UA Laptop - Intel® Core™ i7-6500U (6th Gen) 12GB RAM 2TB HDD DVDRW 15.6" Full HD LED Windows 10 - Black
The X556UA has the latest tech to help you develop your ideas and work at your best. It's great for editing complex documents, business use, editing photos, and anything else you do throughout the day. Not sure about the graphics but seems amazing for the price!

These Asus Laptops are ( Cabinet Display ) Ex Demo units from a major retailer and in immaculate ( A+ Grade ) like new condition with no signs of use but may have a VERY minor buff or scuff on the casing due to handling. The unit will be supplied in its original retail packaging or will have been professionally plain boxed. The units carry a 3 Months Warranty for Peace of Mind.

3 month warranty doesn't give much "peace of mind", but i think that's one hell of a spec for the money.

For Ex-display read sat on shelf powered on all day while children hammer the keys and rub their grubby hands all over the screen. Wouldn't touch one with a barge poll.

I see your point but as he states it was a cabinet display so would that not mean it's in a display cabinet and not necessarily in the open for kids to hammer away on it?....

Have you been, have you seen ? It does not say "IN a cabinet" do you trust them and PCworld display their laptop ON cabinets as do many others. The term might just mean it's not displayed in a shop window.

3 months warranty shows a lack of confidence in the product. That's my opinion.

Would I be right in thinking that the Battery will have cooked or at least compromised, having been plugged in for the last 6 months or more on a display unit.
And if memory server me the battery fixed in this model which has to go back to be replaced. Shame thought :(

As opposed to antique laptops?

probably more often than older laptops did because modern ones are built as a commodity, to a cost. Older ones were more likely to get a premium price so the was more margin to build to a better quality standard. Just my opinion.
