FAO Ianb1992: I bought a dell inspiron 5521 with i5 3317u (up to 10 hrs batt life so far) with 8g ram, 2g radon Hd 8730m graphics and 1Tb hard drive for £420 delivered last week. It's very very good for that price.

I can't seem to post a link via my phone app, but it's easy enough to search on the dell outlet site.

I had very bad experience with asus. bought x501a model last October and i had to send it to repair thrice. they replaced motherboard, cpu, battery and now waiting for touch pad. i might be unlucky with this laptop but their customer service was awful. you don't get any help on phone and they ask to send complaints on email to which their responce was very poor.
some might disagree to me on this but I had very bad experience with them.

Just bought this deal. It is come with free BullGuard internet security.
#22
Super deal but I don't like the shiny screen. There are fewer and fewer non reflective screens to be had.

Asus hate customers, to them customers are £$, once customers might cost Asus £$, Asus hate them. It's simple. That's my experience of Asus.

Ordered, thanks OP.

good deal me thinks, asus has top notch build quality, and will last a few years, no point going for a cheap one. dont buy the cheaper celeron refurb from argos, will get frustratingly slow in a few years.
#27
Does the have bluetooth? Can't find anything saying yes or no.

Partner was after a laptop for some time. She went for this for the specs. It's a nice laptop. Build quality is great. Good screen. Very good keyboard. Bought it for the i5 processor (video editing and other similar tasks). Multitasking has been fine so far.

Touch-pad is taking her a little bit of time to get used to as well as Windows 8. A couple of months with it and it should be okay though.

In the market for a laptop myself. Wanted a smaller screen but this is tempting me. Wish there was a different colour available on the website! Paid less than this but only because I had a lot of Amazon vouchers. This is a very good price. The Easter deal might not last for long.

Customer service was fine for me when I sent my Asus tablet for repair. Got it back within 2 weeks, but that's the tablet. Don't know how they'd deal with a laptop.

Great value for money. Been looking for a laptop for a few weeks now, but just ordered this. My brother has run a similar ASUS model, but with an I3 processor, for a year with no problems so far (bought from a shop in Tottenham Court Road).

For what its worth, this site ranks the ASUS brand third behind APPLE and Lenovo: http://blog.laptopmag.com/best-worst-notebook-brands-2013?page=3

Note there is a surcharge for paying by credit card (£4.86), or for paypal (similar) but none for debit card - went for cc as it offers more protection if things go wrong.

Thanks to BILL6253 for this deal!

You should be able to find some nice soft neoprene ones. Do a search on Ebay for one/all of the following:

laptop sleeve

laptop neoprene sleeve

laptop hard shell

It shouldn't cost more than a tenner and I'm sure you'll find something to suit your tastes

Received mine today but cannot comment on it as the screen is all cracked. Their returns page seems to fob you off to the manufacturers. I'll see what they have to say when I phone them tomorrow.
Talk about being excited coming home from work to play with your new toy and this. Arghh!
