Seems like a good quality laptop with top specs for the price.
Your 17R has got much lower specs. The 17R is also horrible glossy, screen and plastic case, while the ASUS has an aluminium case.

Hi am guessing you still do not no the 17r ES it comes with ANTI-GLARE 1080p screen which is fantastic and best in class according to notebookcheck.com and its 2012 model check it out first then comment over all the performance of mine should be higher considirng the graphic card and the hdd clocked at 7200 and more then 200 cheaper!!!

I am aware that the 17R comes with a choice of screens. You were lucky if you got an ant-glare screen for this price. Most refurbs from Dell are glossy (i.e. cheap screen).
At 760 its the cheapest most powerful laptop around.
After all its not a gaming laptop, just a good all rounder
cheapest around as i have been looking, good deal OP
