that's a looker, wonder what the build quality is like? => should be pretty sturdy using that much metal :)

Not something for me but specifications and value still make it hot.

...I wish my missis let me to buy another laptop :D

I like the design, but I'm put off by the amount of screen glare and reflection shown in those photos.

Hot but don't think i could put up with the touchpads on the sides of the keyboard....and polished Aluminium, that would look a right state after about 3 minutes from unpacking...

That is an unbelievably beautiful product and the ad really goes a long way in selling it. Although ASUS only mention the speakers being by B&O, the entire design screams B&O from the dual-touchpads to the styling of the keyboard. This is the closest to a B&O laptop I think we're going to get and that in itself is amazing.

While I would love to buy this laptop, I do have an aversion to Nvidia and would prefer it to have AMD graphics. It still is an excellent buy especially as it has a powerful quad-core CPU, Blu-ray drive and huge 18.4" display. I'm very tempted!

This is a scorching price. It wasn't 5 minutes ago when I was on Acer's website with this selling at £2,000+ easily.

Great looking laptop and I would deffo get it if I could afford it.

Is all this space under the keyboard (where the touchpad is normally) wasted?
Weird design IMHO...
Personally I'd prefer either the keyboard located farther from the screen and closer to the edge or a full-size keyboard with big touchpad(s) under it.

Guess I'm the only one who thinks the design is horrible, but still, good spec/price if you want a desktop replacement. Voted hot.

Not quite the design I want
but does seem to be ultimate package.

What i dont understand, is the speaker. Given the size, its owner would use it strictly as desktop replacement. If its meant to be on a desk - then most desktop speakers would offer vastly superior audio experience, at a fraction of the price!

please note these pictures come from exhibition and lighting intense on exhibitions is usually very strong causing reflection and mirror effect

I think this is a one-off, so I doubt you'll find much variety in specs bar the slight difference in CPU speed, HDD space and RAM size. I would hope that an updated version would be released, but it's doubtful given how much money must have went into the design and production.

Stunning I might order this cheers op

Wow this is SCORCHING!!! On all other websites listed on Google shopping, it is between £1800 and £1900. On ebuyer it is £1850. And if you look at other computers with a similar spec, they cost much more. Don't forget, there is also free bullguard Antivirus included too (although I usually just use AVG for free). Some guy bought this last year and wrote about how he got on: http://nx90.wordpress.com

Don't get the Intel® Core™ i7-740QM it runs really hot.

Nice. But looking at the weight and battery life l don't think you will be lugging it away from a power socket much. For those of you with deep pockets, a source of reviews is Click here for links to reviews

P.S. Bear in mind that the review marks assume a retail price far in excess of £999.

I went to order it but then its 5.2 KG in weight but then I hardly ever take a 15" laptop out let alone an 18.4".

I like it but size and weight have put me off duue to lack of practicality.

It may be good for those looking for desktops but then I dont know what a grand may buy.
